“IS IT TRUE” SEPTEMBER 4, 2019

1

We hope that today’s “IS IT TRUE” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way?

IS IT TRUE that sometime in October 2019 an announcement will be made by the Vanderburgh County officials that they have agreed to renovate the County jail? …we are told that the newly renovated jail will meet our needs for at least 25 years?

IS IT TRUE are told that a few Republican “SPIN DOCTORS” are predicting that the City Council Ward Three (3) and Ward Two (2) winners will be Republicans?  …we are told that some of these same people also predicted that President Trump and the United States Senator Mike Braun would both lose the Republican primary?

IS IT TRUE that its common knowledge that political candidates with name recognition generally do very well at the ballot box?

IS IT TRUE we wonder if its Kosher for a political candidate to spend their campaign funds on baby sitting services?

IS IT TRUE we been told that several local movers and shakers would like to turn the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum in downtown Evansville into a Military Museum?

IS IT TRUE we give five (5) cheers to the University of Southern Indiana, through its University Archives and Special Collections for partnering with the Vanderburgh County Commissioners, Veterans Council of Vanderburgh County, and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War to preserve historical materials currently housed in the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Room of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum in downtown Evansville?

IS IT TRUE  we are told that a few of the mainstream media elitists are  degrading the City-County Observer?  …all we can say about this is that we are proud to be a home owned community publication and thats more then they can say?

IS IT TRUE we find it interesting that several candidates for the Evansville City Council are telling potential voters that if they are elected they will be the  “Taxpayers Watchdog”?  …if City Council candidates really want to prove that they have the capacity of being a “Taxpayers Watchdog” they should publicly request that the City Controller provide then with a complete and accurate accounting on how much has the City invested in the Evansville Thunderbolts since it beginning?

IS IT TRUE we wonder if anyone knows anything about the current status of the old CVS building located on North Main Street?

IS IT TRUE a CCO staff member recently had lunch at the GANGNAM restaurant in downtown-Evansville and she really enjoyed the delicious food, liked the friendly staff and menu offerings?

IS IT TRUE that in Indiana gamblers must be 21 or older in order to place a bet in a “Sportsbook” facility?   …that Indiana gaming law allows casinos to take wagers on dozens of professional, collegiate and international events, including football, basketball, baseball, auto racing, hockey, soccer, boxing, golf, and Olympic competitions. No betting is allowed on high school or youth sporting events, or e-sports?

IS IT TRUE we give five (5) cheers to The Evansville DMD And Evansville African American Museum for creating and dedicating an African American Heritage Trail?

IS IT TRUE  that a loyal reader of the City-County Observer takes Rosuvastatin (generic for Crestor) on a daily basis?  …without insurance or government assistance this medicine would have cost him $677.25 dollars to fill? …he uses the GOOD RX APP. at a local pharmacy and paid only $22.18 for a three month supply of this prescription?  …we highly recommend that you Google the Good Rx App because you will save big bucks on your future prescriptions order?

IS IT TRUE that so far 108 people have contacted the Chairman of the  “Working Outside The Box” speaker series sponsored by the City-County Observer?  …that we have only 50 available seats for this extremely popular event?

Todays “Readers Poll” question Is: Do you feel that the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum in downtown Evansville should be turned into a Military Museum?
Please take time and read our articles entitled “STATEHOUSE Files, Local OBITITARIES, LAW ENFORCEMENT, READERS POLL, BIRTHDAYS, HOT JOBS” and “LOCAL SPORTS”.
