We hope that today’s “IS IT TRUE” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way?

IS IT TRUE last week we were told that the office building that housed the Jacobville Neighborhood Association on North Main Street is now vacant and is on the market to be sold by Woodruff Commercial Realty?  …wasn’t it a couple years ago that the Jacobville Neighborhood Association promoted the $18 million dollar street, bike path and sidewalk renovation project on North Main street?  …didn’t this organization state if the city agrees to do this project it would attract many new businesses to locate on North Main street?  …we wonder where did the Jacobville Neighborhood Association move their office?

IS IT TRUE we are hearing that the Mayor is quietly considering building a new $28 million Aqua Center at Garvin Park?  …we are told that once this facility is built the Mayor may also be entertaining the idea of offering the Evansville YMCA an opportunity to manage this new facility?

IS IT TRUE that “100 Men, Who Cook” raised $226,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville over the weekend? …over 1,000 people attended this annual event that was put on by local chefs, volunteers, donors and supporters attended this worthy community event? …that employees at Old National Bank did a phenomenal job in planning this event?

IS IT TRUE we would like to give five (5) cheers to the “!00 Men, Who Cook” for doing a  phenomenal job in help raising a whopping $226,000 for the young men and women who participate in the character building programs offered by the Evansville Boys and Girls Club of Evansville? … we would like to give special thanks to Boys and Girls Club President, Ben Shoulders, Ron Ryan, Executive Director, and the entire Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors for doing a first-class job in also helping to promote this outstanding community event?

IS IT TRUE we are pleased to hear that the Vanderburgh County Commissioners recently passed a resolution stating they opposed INDOT’s draft of the Lloyd Expressway Corridor Management Plan and the U.S. Highway 41 Corridor Plan?

IS IT TRUE that the Evansville City Council did exactly as the City-County Observer predicted and voted to plunk down $2.7 million taxpayer dollars to move the LST from Marina Pointe to the old casino boat site? …we are surprised that only one (1) City Council member questioned whos going to pay to dismantle the LST dock once the boat leaves Marina Pointe? … we commended Missy Mosby for voting “no” on this issue until someone answers her question concerning the costs in dismantling the old LST boat dock at Marine Pointe?  …as of today, Ms. Mosby hasn’t received an answer to the question concerning whos going to pay to dismantle the LST dock once the boat leaves Marina Pointe?

IS IT TRUE we are told that D’Angelo Tayor will be running as a 2nd Ward candidate in next years Democratic primary? …he recently announced that he will be having a political fundraiser on Sept 1, 2018?

IS IT TRUE we are told that Natalie Robertson Rascher the Director of Talent and Human Resources for the Kemper CPA Group LLP will be running for the 2nd Ward City Council seat as a Republican in next years city election?

IS IT TRUE we are hearing that the current Director of the City of Evansville Buiding Inspector office will be retiring soon and intends to run for the At-Large City Council seat as a Republican?

IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County Democratic party posted the following message on their website today?  …they posted: TRUMP PROTEST.  Be a part of History, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM -North end of the corner of MLK and Locust St, across from the Old National Events Plaza?

  1. Ms Mosby is wise in asking concerning the cost of removing the Marina Pointe docks. As it seems, this council gets caught up in the moment never forecasting the horizon!

  2. Simply shameless for the Vanderburgh County Democrat Party to organize a formal protest against the President. Hopefully, this won’t encourage the out-of-town Antifa clowns to act out with their trademark vandalism, egg throwing and sucker punching of elderly trump supporters Imagine the liberal outrage if the Vanderburgh County Republican party had organized a protest against Obama’s rally at Roberts stadium. The local news and the Courier & Press with give the protesters more publicity and the President’s message of hope, prosperity and unity.

    • We should have a march from Memorial Baptist Church protesting against the inner-city and south side gang and gun violence, instead of this attention getting protest of a current US President. You certainly don’t have to like Donald Trump, but as Americans we should honor the Office of the President and be respectful. President Trump should be treated no differently than President Obama was when he visited Evansville, and TV 14 televised President Obama’s speech live. There is far to much division and hate in our Country. We need to respect others and all get along as Americans.

      • You are so right. We need to stand together and be respectful of our President, like him or not. We need to present a UNITED front or other countries may see us otherwise as divisive and weak.

    Clinton Got His Supreme Court Pick While Under Investigation. Trump Should Get His.

    President Bill Clinton was under criminal investigation in 1993 when he nominated Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Senate voted 96-3 to confirm her nomination just 42 days later.

    A year later, Clinton was actually under subpoena when he nominated Justice Stephen Breyer. The Senate voted 87-9 to confirm his nomination and no Democrat feigned concern or suggested delaying the confirmation process.

    Eighty percent of Trump’s nominees to the U.S. Court of Appeals received a “well qualified” rating from the ABA — a higher percentage than any of the previous five presidents of both parties. Yet most Democrats voted against more than three-quarters of those nominees….

    So does it surprise anyone that senators — many of whom announced opposition to Trump’s nominee before they even knew who it was — would make fake “arguments” that serve only to degrade the confirmation process even further?

  4. The “Occupy” folks are organizing to counter-protest President Trump. There is even an “Occupy Southern Indiana” and they have a facebook page with pics. One Occupy guy is holding his sign upside down.

  5. Isn’t the United States a great country? If President Trump was really a Fascist or even a simple minded Socialist, the Democrat protesters would be shot in the street like dogs for protesting this rally. Please KEEP AMERICA GREAT by keeping your foul mouths shut and your hands to yourself. That goes for both groups who will be there. Express yourselves without violence or personal nastiness.

    The indictment claims Samantha Elhassani acquired tactical gear for known ISIS terrorists and provided other related support for the terror groups.

    As I reported here at PJ Media, her 10-year-old son was featured in an ISIS propaganda video that threatened President Donald Trump and warned of domestic terror attacks. The video also showed a young Yazidi boy from Iraq who was held hostage by her family.

    Elhassani’s attorney claims she was tricked by her husband to moving to Raqqa in 2014. Her husband, Moussa Elhassani, was reportedly killed in a drone strike last year.

  7. LISTEN UP – CRITICAL DEVELOPMENT:
    1. Trump”s most significant legal advocate, Fox New”s Alan Dershowitz, says that Trumps legal issues in NY State, are far more dangerous than anything Trump has faced ever.
    2. And that Trump should abandon all efforts fighting Mueller and focus exclusively on NY State SDNY Prosecutors.
    3. Why? Because they have the keys to the castle: Trumps attorney and Trumps Accountant bot flipped.

    They’re going after Trumps assets that are riddled with fraud. Trump is stuck in DC and sweating bullets.

    Trump is powerless to stop them. State cases, not Federal, and Trump has no authority to stop State prosecution.

    Dershowitz is making it clear Trump is SCREWED, much as he doesn’t like it.

    (All this Ford Center rally talk is meaningless.)

    • Whatever the democrats do to harm Trump will not serve them well in the future. When Trump is out of office the economy will sink and you’ll have a bunch of mad conservatives. Trump is not sweating nor worried about much. He has proven the swamp and democrats are corrupt and will go down I history as one who saved the country for a short period of time. If they had anything on collusion it would have already been revealed. Europeans think we are on the verge of a civil war, they may be right, there’s no one with enough credibility on the democrat side to be a healing leading. People are really getting tired of this special counsel witch hunt.

  9. I want to make a couple of corrections to the Editor’s “Is It True?” here. The Jacobsville Neighborhood Association has never owned or leased an office or building on Main Street. They never promoted the $18 million dollar Main Street project as you are suggesting here. You are talking about the “Jacobsville Join In” association. I understand your confusion. Jacobsville Join In was a group organized under the ECHO Housing Corporation back when Stephanie Tenbarge was the Executive Director. If you remember, she resigned this year after it was discovered that she used ECHO Corp. monies to pay her personal tax bill.
