In 2011, the International Business Times declared, “The city of Evansville, Indiana, has the most obese metropolitan area in the nation.” The announcement drew all the predictable reactions from the locals, from calls for diet and exercise programs to indignation over this website’s nerve to say such untruths about our community.
Recently, Wallet Hub released an updated list of the fattest cities in America and Evansville cannot be found anywhere in the top 100. Taking our place in proudly representing Hoosier girth are Fort Wayne (#29) and Indianapolis (#40).
