- On Sunday, February 12, 2017 at around 9:30 PM deputies responded to the area of north US 41 upon report of an intoxicated driver in a Ford Expedition traveling at a high rate of speed.
- A deputy observed the suspect vehicle traveling north of St. George Road and attempted to catch up. The deputy activated his lights and siren, but the vehicle continued north passing vehicles at speeds of 70 mph. The vehicle stopped at a red light, but the driver (later identified as Ms. Roxanne Chambers) ignored commands to exit her vehicle and then drove off when the light turned green.
The pursuit continued into Gibson County where Ms. Chambers stopped at the Pilot gas station on Warrenton Road. Ms. Chambers remained in her vehicle, ignoring deputies commands for several minutes before getting out and attempting to casually walk into the store.
Ms. Chambers was taken to the ground by a deputy, but refused to allow herself to be handcuffed. Ms. Chambers was eventually subdued and transported to the Vanderbugh County Jail. A certified breath test showed Ms. Chambers’ breath alcohol content to be .214, over two and a half times the legal limit of .08.

Resisting Law Enforcement as a Level 6 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement as a Class A Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated as a Class A Misdemeanor, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more as a Class A Misdemeanor, Speeding as a Class C Infraction
