Follow God’s Word… by jerome Stewart

All throughout the Old and New Testament there are many words of wisdom able to help anyone navigate the situational difficulties in this life which is temporal.  The words of the prophet Jeremiah comes to mind in chapter 15 vs. 16 which says; “Your words were found and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.” Before we go any further be advised that He is the exact same God today.

It matters greatly the people we listen to. Strongly consider the meaning of the words of Azariah to Asa in 2nd Chronicles 15 vss. 1 and 2 which says; Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.”

This country has lost its sense of spirituality. We have turned away from the word of God. We need to turn our life over to Jesus with all deliberate speed. For those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we need to rely on His word every day and not the misguided words of those who have a social media platform with millions of followers but no Jesus.

There is no getting around the fact the days are evil. Consider the words of the Apostle Paul to the brethren in Romans chapter 13 vs. 12 which says; “The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light.”  Vs. 14 he says; “Put on the whole armor of Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust.”

The days are truly evil but not everybody is walking in darkness. The disciples of Jesus Christ are to be the light. It just needs to be turned on high beam at times. Memorize the words Jesus said to His disciples over 2,000 years ago because they still hold true today.  John 10 vs. 27, Jesus says; “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me.”

The Apostle Paul warned the brethren at Ephesus that they were not to fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. There needs to be an awareness of the character and motivations of the people we associate with. In seeking to walk in the light of Jesus Christ which is what every child of God should be striving to do, it means to place some distance between those who walk in darkness!
