Follow God’s Word by Jerome Stewart

Proverbs 14 vs. 34 says; “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” The words in the book of Judges chapter 21 vs. 25 comes to mind which says; “In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Psalms 14 vs. 1 says; “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.” Mankind has been given free will. We can choose to be a fool, but there are consequences for our actions, which will be judged according to the Scriptures. The bible is our roadmap for righteous living in this life. The Apostle Paul said to the brethren in Romans chapter 12 vss. 1 and 2; “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” So what renews our minds? The Scriptures!  Everything Jesus did on earth as God in the flesh was according to the Scriptures.  In Matthew chapter 26 when it was getting close to the crucifixion of Jesus, Peter had cut off the ear of Malchus the servant of the high priest. Vss. 52 and 53 the bible says; “But Jesus said to Him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father in heaven, and He will provide Me with more than 12 legions of angels?” A legion of angels would total 6,000. Vs. 54 Jesus says; “How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?” Had Jesus wanted to He could have requested the Father to send Him one angel. Do not underestimate the power of the living God! The prophet Isaiah made reference to the defeat and death of Sennacherib king of Assyria in chapter 37 vs. 36. The bible says; “Then the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses-all dead.” Sin; will be punished! 2nd. Timothy chapter 4 vs. 2 Paul said to Timothy; “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort will all longsuffering and teaching.” So what would Jesus say about what is being preached today? The word of God cannot be held hostage by anyone rich, poor, or in-between.
