Today marks Veterans Day and an opportunity to thank our military members – both past and present – for their service to our nation.
It’s important we stand up for our men and women in uniform, andtheir families who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom. We are blessed to live in a country where our rights are guaranteed and power belongs to the people.

As your state representative, I have supported measures to ease the burden on our state’s military personnel and veterans. In fact, a new law was passed this year to help lower Indiana’s unemployment rate among veterans, as well as extend the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act to protect members of the Indiana National Guard while they are deployed or serving on active duty.
We can never fully repay the courageous men and women who answered our nation’s call – all for the promise of a safer America. That is why it’s important, not just on Veterans Day but every day, to show our gratitude to those who have served.
Join me on Saturday for the Four Freedoms Veterans parade at 2:30 pm on Riverside Drive in Evansville to celebrate our local veterans.
If you are a veteran, thank you for your service.
May God bless you and continue to bless America.
Sincerely,
State Rep. Wendy McNamara
