 On May 10, around 3:20 a.m., the Evansville Police Department was called to the area of N. First Ave. and W. Virginia St. for a shots fired call. One of the callers told Central Dispatch that they heard several shots being fired in that area.Â
Another caller advised that there had been a motor vehicle accident in the same area. When officers arrived, they located the crashed vehicle with a deceased male victim in the driver’s seat. It appeared as if the victim had been shot.Â
Due to the large amount of shell casings in the area of First and Virginia, it is believed that the victim was shot while waiting for the traffic light and then sped through the intersection after being shot multiple times, then crashing.Â
