(Evansville, Ind.) Holly’s House is pleased to announce that Molly Elfreich, Assistant Director and Forensic Interviewer, has attained the highest level of credentialing from the National Association of Certified Child Forensic Interviewers (NACCFI) Credentialing Board, the Diplomate Child Forensic Interviewer (DCFI) certification. The DCFI certification indicates advanced and expert level practice experience and training, existing legal and psychometric requirements.  The National Association of Certified Child Forensic Interviewers (NACCFI) is the only professional credentialing program for child forensic interviewers in the United States.  NACCFI was founded on June 16, 2006 on the principle that conducting child forensic interviews should only be performed by properly trained and credentialed practitioners in compliance with the universally accepted standards of the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The NACCFI multi-tiered credentialing standards include; actual work experience in the profession, specialized evidenced based forensic interview training, evidence of good moral and ethical conduct and a commitment by the credentialed practitioner to the pursuit of continues learning and skill building in the practice of their profession. The primary mission of the NACCFI Credentialing Board is protecting the welfare and safety of the clients we serve and the public’s trust and confidence in the professional practice of child forensic interviewing.
Currently, Elfreich is the only person in Indiana to hold this advanced certification. 54 people hold this designation in the United States, three in Latin America, and two in Canada. Sidney Hardgrave, Holly’s House Executive Director, said, “Molly’s achievement speaks to her dedication and commitment in being the area expert in child forensic interviewing. Holly’s House, and the community, is fortunate to have such talented person available to insure that interviews are conducted in an ethical manner while preserving criminal evidence and making the child victim feel at ease.†Holly’s House interviews over 300 sexually abused children a year.
