Holding The Line On Property Taxes

Indiana has the eighth-lowest median property taxes in the nation and the No. 3 most taxpayer-friendly property-tax system in the country thanks in part to Senate Republicans‘ work to limit the growth of property taxes in recent years.
Why it matters: Hoosiers know how best to spend their own money, and maintaining a fiscally responsible government keeps more money in taxpayers’ pockets.
While local officials are responsible for determining property tax rates, I have supported recent efforts to reform our state’s property tax system including laws to:

I don’t agree with that assessment entirely. Senior citizens on a fixed income should not be highly taxed. Other states pay less.
Seniors shouldn’t even have to pay property taxes, what a way to treat your senior citizens that they have to worry about losing their homes because crooked greedy politicians that can’t stop spending better yet wasting!
I so agree. Many are on one ss check and can hardly afford medicines and groceries let alone when that property tax bills appear in the mail. Seniors deserve a break in their taxes, regardless of worth of home.
