A selection of historical photos and articles detailing the history of Haynie’s Corner will be on display at the Alhambra Theatre.
The selection, curated by Dr. Stella Ress, University of Southern Indiana assistant professor of history, and Jennifer Greene, reference and archive librarian, will feature selections from the archives of the Evansville Courier and Press with interpretations detailing George Haynie, namesake of Haynie’s Corner who owned a drug store in the area from the late 1800’s until 1928. A plaque in Haynie’s honor will be installed in Haynie’s Corner in a ceremony officiated by Mayor Lloyd Winnecke on May 5.
