EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men’s Basketball junior guard Jeremiah Hernandez (Chicago, Illinois) was honored with first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors today. Hernandez named to the ten player first-team after being selected by the OVC head coaches and the communications directors.
The post-season conference honor is the first for Hernandez.
Hernandez is the leader of the Eagles in 2023-24, averaging a team-high 17.2 points per outing and is first on the team with 31.4 minutes per contest. The junior also is posting a team-best 20.5 points per game during OVC action, ranking second in the conference.
In addition to posting career season-highs in a USI uniform, Hernandez scored a career-high 35 points in the overtime win in the 2023-24 OVC opener at Southeast Missouri State University. He has posted nine games over 20 points this season and recorded a pair of games with 30-or-more.
Hernandez and the Eagles starts their second appearance in OVC Championship as the eighth seed at the Ford Center Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. USI is set to play fifth-seeded Tennessee State University in the first round.
