Helfrich Park to Send Students to Land Between the Lakes
Friday, November 20
7:45 – 8:30
Helfrich Park STEM Academy, 2603 W. Maryland St.
What is it like to take more than a hundred students camping? Helfrich Park STEM Academy knows. Tomorrow, the school is sending approximately 165 sixth graders off on the school’s annual Land Between the Lakes Camping trip. Students will begin arriving at Helfrich around 7:45 a.m. and the buses will leave the school around 8:30.
The students are embarking on a three day, two night trip to Land Between the Lakes in Tennessee. During the trip, students have the opportunity to pick three activities: animal casting, archery, fishing, GPS course, compass course, visit a nature center, visit Fort Campbell, view a planetarium, firefighting, and baking.  This trip allows students to have quality outdoor experiences that they might not get otherwise. The school has been taking this trip for more than 30 years.
