If you choose to set off your own fireworks, it’s important to know the laws and consider some helpful safety tips. Click here to find out important information on Indiana’s fireworks laws.
Here are some tips to keep in mind this weekend:
- Fireworks can only be purchased by persons 18 years of age or older;
- Do not attempt to make your own or alter any fireworks;
- Use a clear, open area and keep the audience at a safe distance;
- Have a fire extinguisher, water supply, hose or bucket of water nearby; and
- Never smoke or consume alcohol when lighting fireworks.
