Aces play just over a round in Alabama

PRATTVILLE, Ala. – Nicholas Gushrowski recorded the low score for the University of Evansville men’s golf team in Sunday’s opening round of the ASU Spring Classic.
Gushrowski finished the round with a 75 to stand in fifth place at RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill. His score was three over par. Carson Parker is tied for 9th place on the leaderboard with a 6-over 78 while Isaac Rohleder is one behind him with a 79.
Masatoyo Kato was the fourth Purple Aces player to finish the first round in the top 15, carding an 81. Michael Ikejiani is in the 25th spot with an 83. Henry Kiel played as an individual and scored a 79.
Following the first 18, UE sits in third place with a 313, just three strokes behind leader Western Illinois. The teams finished a few holes short of completing the second round on Sunday and will complete that round on Monday before the third round of 18.
Host school Alabama State ranked second with a 312 after round one. Felipe Gomez Lopez of Alabama A&M leads the individuals with an even 72. He is one stroke ahead of WIU’s Parker Govern.
