GRAMMY® AWARD WINNER LUPILLO RIVERA TO PLAY OLD NATIONAL EVENTS PLAZA

Evansville, IN – August 10, 2021 – Lupillo Rivera will make his Evansville debut on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Old National Events Plaza. This event, sponsored in part by the Vanderburgh County Health Department, the Evansville Latino Center, WFIE and Old National Events Plaza, will be a “vaccinated-only” event and is free to those that can show proof of vaccination or obtain a vaccine prior to the show. 

Lupillo Rivera is part of a musical family dynasty whose career has spanned over 25 years. A true phenomenon in the United States and Mexico, he has grown his legacy in recent years to become one of the top stars of the Mexican regional music genre. Rivera is the recipient of countless international honors and accolades, including 10 Grammy nominations® and the award for Best Band Album in 2009 for his album, “Esclavo y Amo.” Additionally, he has paved the way for other artists of his genre, being the first Mexican regional artist to play major venues, including the Universal Amphitheatre in 2002. 

Having achieved gold and platinum records for highest album sales in Mexico, the United States and others, Rivera’s vast discography includes notable titles such as, “Desprciado,” “Sufriendo a Solas,” “El Rey De Las Cantinas,” “24 Horas,” and “Entre Copas y Botellas.” His quality works are characterized by a solid voice, reminiscent of yesteryear classics, but with the freshness of contemporary production. Known as an artist that will never conform, Rivera has dedicated his life to providing the best music to his fans and has gained prominence as a popular idol across generations. 

This event is being presented by the Vanderburgh County Health Department as part of the, “Back the Vax … with Facts!” campaign to improve vaccination rates in our area. Tickets for this event are free but capacity is limited. Availability is first-come, first-served. for individuals who can show proof of prior vaccination, or who obtain their free vaccination in person at a Vanderburgh County Health Department clinic. 

– If you have already been vaccinated, visit the Old National Events Plaza Box Office, 10 AM – 5 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. You must have your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card and any photo i.d. (for example, driver’s license, school i.d., work i.d.; the name must match vaccination record.) If you no longer have proof of vaccination, visit the Indiana Vaccination Portal to request a replacement certificate. 

– If you are not yet vaccinated, you may obtain your free vaccine and concert ticket at any of the Vanderburgh County Health Department’s mobile clinics. A list of those clinics can be found on the “Back the Vax … with Facts” Facebook page or at oldnationaleventsplaza.com. You may also call the Vanderburgh County Health Department at 812-435-2400 for a list of upcoming clinics. 

– Additionally, there are several pharmacies and medical professionals that provide free vaccinations. For a list of providers and available vaccines, please visit the Indiana State Health Department’s COVID-19 Vaccine Sites webpage to schedule an appointment. 

– You do not need to be a resident of Vanderburgh County to receive a ticket, but you must have proof of vaccination from the county or state in which your vaccine was administered.

This building was built using taxpayers money and now you tell the people that paid for this you are not allowed to enter unless you have received a vaccine that hasn’t been approved by the FDA ,sounds like something a socialist country would do,I guess that’s what happens when your politicians suck
