| INDIANAPOLIS—The Governor’s Public Health Commission will discuss models of public health governance and structure during its next meeting on Thursday, Dec. 16. The meeting will run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the History Reference Room (Room 211) of the Indiana State Library, 315 W. Ohio St., in Indianapolis. Governor Eric J. Holcomb established the 15-member commission in August to study Indiana’s public health system and make recommendations for improvements. The commission is co-chaired by former State Health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe, who now serves as president and CEO of the CDC Foundation, and former state Sen. Luke Kenley. Current State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG, serves as secretary, while former Congresswoman Susan Brooks serves as a non-voting citizen advisor.
In addition to governance and structure, the commission’s work is focusing on areas including funding, emergency preparedness, workforce, data and information, and the integration of childhood and adolescent health services.
