Background

At the ribbon cutting, founders and successful graduates of The Last Mile Program will share the purpose and benefits of the coding program—including The Last Mile board member, MC Hammer. Members of Indiana’s inaugural coding class at the Women’s Prison will also share their goals and plans for putting the program to work upon release.

Indiana is the first state outside of California to adopt The Last Mile. Bringing the program to Indiana is part of Gov. Holcomb’s Next Level Agenda for 2018, with the goal of helping more incarcerated Hoosiers earn skills for gainful employment upon release.
