North High School, Thompkins Middle School, AIS – First Avenue and Delaware Elementary School were this month’s recipients of donations from DonorsChoose and Horace Mann Insurance. Programs that will receive monetary awards are:
- Graphics Made Fun – North High School, teacher: Corey Simon
Helps purchase graphing dry erase boards for freshman Algebra students that will help keep them motivated. - Student Engagement with QR Codes – Delaware Elementary School, teacher: Kayla Henderson
Helps purchase tablets for each tech table group to help in third grade math - Achieving Success the Phoenix Way – AIS – First Ave., teacher: Jillian Thompson
Helps purchase iPods with cameras, ID badge hole punch, lanyards and a bar code scanner that will be used to give badges in order to acknowledge students who follow expectations and policies. - Stop Motion, Augmented Reality and Coding…Oh My! – Thompkins Middle School, teacher: Ashley Hills
Helps purchase iPad minis for creating stop motion animated movies, learning to write code and experimenting with augmented reality.
The projects are partially funded through DonorsChoose, an online charity that allows individuals to donate directly to classrooms in need. And, to help supplement funds raised on DonorsChoose, Horace Mann Insurance pledges $500 each month to EVSC projects on DonorsChoose.
