EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana Track & Field will send four student-athletes to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships May 26-28 in Allendale, Michigan.
Â
The Screaming Eagles learned Tuesday that senior Austin Nolan (Evansville, Indiana) and junior Titus Winders (Mansfield, Tennessee) will respectively compete in the men’s 10,000 meters and 5,000 meters, while senior Jennifer Comastri (Indianapolis, Indiana) and sophomore Cameron Hough (Olney, Illinois) will both compete in the women’s 10,000 meters.
Â
This marks the first trip to the NCAA II Outdoor Championships for Nolan, who qualified for the NCAA II Indoor Championships as a junior in 2021. He is in search of his first-career All-America honor.
Â
Winders, who won the national championship in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters during the indoor season, is making his second straight trip to the NCAA II Outdoor Championships after finishing 15th in the 5,000 meters a year ago. Counting cross country, Winders is a six-time All-American, but is looking for his first outdoor All-America honor.
Â
Comastri, a combined five-time All-American in cross country and track, returns to nationals after earning second-team All-America honors with a 12th-place finish in the 5,000 meters last year.
Â
Hough ranks sixth in next week’s 10,000-meter field with her time of 34 minutes, 20.41 seconds. She is making her first appearance at the NCAA II Outdoor Championships and her third appearance overall this season. Hough earned All-America honors in cross country last Fall before recording a 16th-place showing in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA II Indoor Championships.
Â
Both 10,000-meter races are scheduled for May 26, with the men’s race starting at 7:10 p.m. (CDT) and the women’s racing following at 7:50 p.m. (CDT). The men’s 5,000 meters is May 28 at 4 p.m. (CDT).
