First Lady Karen Pence Returns to the Indiana State Fair

Indianapolis – Today, First Lady Karen Pence returned to the 2016 Indiana State Fair to commemorate the state’s bicentennial, tour exhibits and visit with fairgoers from across the state.

“I had another great day at the Indiana State Fair,” said First Lady Karen Pence. “Since visiting the Indiana Arts Building has always been one of my favorite stops, this was my first stop today. I am always amazed by the Hoosier talent and hard work that is showcased throughout the fairgrounds.”

1) First Lady Tours Hoosier-made Art at State Fair // First Lady Karen Pence tours the art, quilt and photography exhibits and visits with Hoosier artists in the Indiana Arts Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

 

2) First Lady Visits the Big Cheese // First Lady Karen Pence visits the American Dairy Association of Indiana’s “Big Cheese Sculpture” commemorating Indiana’s Bicentennial in the Agriculture Horticulture Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The sculpture is made up of more than 1,200 pounds of cheese and will be on display throughout the Indiana State Fair.

 

3) First Lady Samples Tomato Juice at State Fair // First Lady Karen Pence samples Red Gold tomato juice served by Marion County Master Gardeners in the Agriculture Horticulture Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

4) First Lady Visits Beekeepers of Indiana at State Fair // First Lady Karen Pence admires a beehive at the Beekeepers of Indiana’s booth in the Agriculture Horticulture Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. In June 2014, First Lady Karen Pence unveiled a beehive at the Governor’s Residence, donated by the Indiana Beekeepers’ Association.

5) First Lady Tours Purdue Extension – Marion County Demonstration Garden // First Lady Karen Pence tours the Purdue Extension – Marion County Demonstration Garden at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The demonstration garden features annual flowers and vegetables.
