Eric Eifert Named Green River Kiwanis’ 2015 Firefighter of the Year
Eric Eifert is a Fire Investigator and a 15½ year department veteran.  Eric is very active in promoting physical fitness among the department and is a Peer Fitness Trainer and Workplace Performance Evaluation proctor. Eric freely gives his time to many civic organizations and charities, some of which are: Easter Seals, MDA, Habitat for Humanity and Firefighter’s Local 357 Kid’s Christmas Party. Eric is a member of Firefighter’s Pipe and Drum Corp and plays on the Guns & Hoses Hockey team, for the Hoses, of course.
Eric and his wife Christa have 2 children, Aspen (5) and Ezra (5 mo).
Eric received a wall plague from Kiwanis, a $100 gift card from Mulzer Crushed Stone and Evansville Firefighters Federal Credit Union (each) and a custom ring from Firefighters Local 357. The Green River Kiwanis will also erect a billboard with his picture proclaiming his accomplishment. The billboard, courtesy of Lamar Advertising, will be at a location and date to be determined. Eifert was one of five nominees for this year’s award. The other nominees were: Beth Csukas, Matt Garnett, Jonathan Sprinkle and Chris Wagener.
Eifert is the 35th recipient of this annual award.
