Explore Evansville Welcomes Special Olympics Indiana Cornhole Tournament

Evansville, IN – September 11, 2024 – Explore Evansville is excited to host the upcoming Special Olympics Indiana Cornhole Sectional 10 Tournament, set to take place on Saturday, September 14 at Goebel Soccer Complex. This event, organized by Special Olympics Indiana, is the first of its kind, and brings together athletes from across the state for a day of friendly competition, sportsmanship, and community.

The tournament is an opportunity for athletes of all abilities to showcase their cornhole skills while enjoying the camaraderie and support of their peers, families, and fans. The event will feature 66 teams of two in varying divisions with athletes vying for advancement to the State Tournament. Spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer on the athletes as they compete for the championship.

“Partnering with Explore Evansville to plan this Sectional has been an awesome experience,” said Connie King, Sectional 10 Director. “I believe the coaches and parents will be very impressed with the fantastic venue, and our athletes will take great pride in showing us their competitive skills.”

The Special Olympics Indiana Cornhole 10 Tournament is part of a larger initiative to promote sports and inclusion across the state. By participating in events like this, athletes gain confidence, build friendships, and develop skills that extend beyond the playing field.
