Staying Safe in Extreme Heat

Hoosiers should remember to take precautions in extreme heat, which many of us experienced this week.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security reminds Hoosiers to drink plenty of fluids, wear loose-fitting and light-colored clothes, avoid strenuous activities, watch for symptoms of heat-related illnesses and seek medical attention if necessary.

With the extreme heat, many communities will open cooling centers for area residents.
