In recent years, Indiana Senate Republicans have supported legislation to help improve mental health support systems across our state.
Why it matters: Mental health issues continue to be a growing concern as 1 in 5 adults report dealing with some sort of mental health illness each year.
With this in mind, last year I supported a measure to improve mental health care for Hoosiers by building a better system of certified behavioral health clinics throughout Indiana.
On the heels of this effort, Indiana recently received approval to participate in a program that will help facilitate the creation of eight regional certified behavioral health clinics that will provide services based on local needs.

Staying Safe in Extreme Heat
Hoosiers should remember to take precautions in extreme heat, which many of us experienced this week.
With the extreme heat, many communities will open cooling centers for area residents.
