EVSC Schools to Graduate 1,435

In ceremonies Friday and Saturday, seniors in Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation schools will graduate 1,435 students in public ceremonies.

Preliminary data (which often changes up to the day of graduation and beyond) shows that an average of 82.2 percent of this year’s graduating classes at the five traditional high schools are planning to further their education at either two-year colleges, four-year colleges and universities, or through vocational or technical school programs. This year’s seniors have also been offered nearly
$23 million in scholarship monies to aid in the attendance to these programs.

The institutions of higher education EVSC students are planning to attend include such colleges and universities as: Princeton, Rutgers, Carnegie-Mellon, Rose Hulman, Georgetown, Art Institute of Chicago, Brigham Young, Furman, Ohio State, Butler, Wabash, Indiana University, University of Evansville, and the University of Southern Indiana.

Central:
Approximate Scholarships offered: $4.7 million
Approximate number of Graduates: 270
Attending post-secondary institutions: 88%

Harrison:

Approximate number of graduates: 307
Attending post-secondary institutions: 71%

North:
Approximate Scholarships a offered: $4 million
Approximate number of graduates: 339
Attending post-secondary institutions: 77%

Reitz:
Approximate Scholarships offered: $7 million
Approximate number of graduates: 332
Attending post-secondary institutions: 82%

Academy for Innovative Studies:
Approximate Scholarships offered: $1,000

Approximate number of graduates: 22

Attending Post-Secondary Institutions: 50%

This year’s commencements are all being conducted at school locations on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26. The schedule of ceremonies is:

Reitz High School: Friday, May 25, 5:30 p.m. at the Reitz Bowl
North High School: Friday, May 25, 8 p.m. at Husky Stadium
Harrison High School: Saturday, May 26, 9 a.m. at Romain Stadium

Academy for Innovative Studies: Saturday, May 26, 11:30 a.m., Auditorium
Central High School: Saturday, May 26, 5:30 p.m. at Central Stadium
Bosse High School: Saturday, May 26, 8 p.m. at Enlow Field
