An Evansville man wanted for an April 2nd robbery and shooting was taken into custody near Harrisburgh Illinois.
Maurice Gardner was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals. Gardner was wanted on a warrant for shooting Matthew Green during a drug deal at 1014 Jefferson Ave. Gardner was extradited back to Indiana and is in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
Police believe Gardner and two other men, Kevin Washington and Rahim Washington, tried to rob Green during a deal. Based on statements made after the shooting, police believe Gardner was the person who shot Green
