Evansville Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in the 500 block of Adams Ave that ended with the homeowner shooting the suspect. The incident happened around 6:45 this evening.
The homeowner was assaulted by the suspect during the robbery. Police believe the homeowner was able to arm himself during the robbery and fired at least one shot at the suspect.
The suspect fled the home before officers arrived. He arrived at Deaconess Hospital a short time later for treatment for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. His current condition is unavailable.
The names of the homeowner and the suspect are not being released at this time. The investigation is on-going.
