Evansville man arrested after threats to carry out a shooting at Harrison High School

17

Evansville Police arrested 19 year old Anthony Wolfe Jr for Intimidation after officers received a tip that Wolfe was threatening to “shoot up” Harrison High School. Wolfe is not a student at Harrison and not enrolled at any EVSC schools.
During the investigation, officers learned that Wolfe had made verbal threats. As knowledge of the threats spread, people began talking about it on Twitter. Through his Twitter account, Wolfe commented about the issue. He mentioned the amount of Harrison followers now following him and said “I feel something bad about to happen”. When asked what he had done, Wolfe replied “Said Harrison gone get shot up…niggas took that shit serious lol.” Wolfe was located at his home and taken into custody. Investigators do not believe Wolfe was at the school at any time today.
Wolfe is in the Vanderburgh County Jail charged with Intimidation, Class D Felony.
Evansville Police want to be very clear that all threats of violence towards our schools and the children of our community will be taken very seriously. All threats will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

  1. What a very classy individual. And yes, when you say you are going to shoot up a school, n-word’s take that very serious, SON!

  2. What a load of ish, this is sensationalism at it’s peak…quoting his tweets out of context in order to make it look like he wasn’t joking (which he was). See for yourself – @Mr_BigBadWolfe The guy was on house arrest, even walking across the street would’ve alerted the police. This journalist should be fired for his shameless, ignorant, lazy, and inaccurate reporting. This story is the real joke that shouldn’t be taken seriously.

It was dumb and immature, but any thinking adult can take one look at his preceding and successive comments on his Twitter account and understand that this guy is about as serious as a Circus Clown.

The Felony needs to be dropped just like Naquan Powell and this kid’s name needs to stop being deliberately and subversively defecated on in the name of getting a little self-interested web traffic.

    • Just a piece of advise. If you are posting under a made up screen name on one site, you should not cut and paste your comments onto another site using your real Facebook account. Especially if that Facebook account shows you in a relationship with a girl who has the same last name, Wolfe, as the guy you are trying to defend. That explains the ability to quickly dismiss what most found to be unacceptable behavior on Anthony Wolfe’ s part.
As familiar as you are with this guy, I would think you are aware of any other behavioral issues this guy has had. Is this his first rodeo? Why is he on house arrest? What else has he done that you think has been sensationalized? Have a good night Mr. Fry.

    • Sure looks to me like another instance of police blowing it a bit out of proportion. Guy looks to me to be joking, which is pretty stupid in today’s climate as OF COURSE you’re going to be made example of.

This kid should learn these few simple words: “I’d like to speak to a lawyer.” A Class D felony at 19 will ruin his life, over what looks like more ill-advised but misunderstood statements like the kind that made the “bomb threat” to UE, which turned out to be another statement taken out of context.

      • I read a little bit of his twitter page. He probably was kidding. But he certainly isn’t a very smart kid. His tweets are, well…. how do you say it… very hood.

      • And how much outrage would there be if the cops said, “oh, we just thought his comments were misunderstood and ill advised” after he showed up at school and kids got hurt? The public would be saying the cops missed the signs. The cops were lazy. The cops did not do their jobs.
But the guy who makes the comments gets arrested and you want to question the cops actions.
You are ignoring the fact that his twitter remarks were made after he was telling people what he was going to do. His first comments and his twitter comments combined led to his arrest. Because you did not include both, you can’t really say if the cops took this out of context.
You have a daughter. If this was her school and the cops failed to act on verbal and online threats, would you be happy about it? Would you ignore how the threats made your kid feel? Would you still feel the need to show support to the person who made the threats?
I looked at Anthony Wolfe’s Facebook page. His cover picture is of him and another guy having simulated sex with plastic dolls. There are pics of him doing gang signs. He is on house arrest already at 19. He is ruining his own life. He needs no help from the cops for that.
What he also does not need is for people to keep excusing his behavior as though he is an angel and that the world is out to get him. That approach has failed him so far.
You are right about one thing, you can’t make comments about coming to a school and shooting people. Period.

        • “And how much outrage would there be if the cops said, “oh, we just thought his comments were misunderstood and ill advised” after he showed up at school and kids got hurt?”

You are right about that. I’m not saying he shouldn’t be charged with something, but a Class D felony charge (which will never stick and end up costing taxpayers money prosecuting) is a bit over the top for what looks like mere juvenile reckless bravado. Don’t get me wrong, there is a difference between “supporting” the comments and questioning the severity of the response.

  3. Who isn’t letting me comment on this story…? What a cowardly act to censor actuality and free speech. Selective release of information is all this story has in its attempts to appear in any way substantial, relevant, and accurate. What a JOKE!

  4. Seems like a pretty upstanding citizen. With has record of battery and criminal gang activity I don’t know why EPD wouldn’t believe he was just joking.

Looks like the bad apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I hope the felony sticks and he sees the jail time he so desperately needs.

  5. I could care less about who knows I said what! I spoke the objective and deliberately ignored truth and that’s why subsequent comments made by strangers to him were consubstantial with my own.

Yeah the dude got in some fights and hung with the wrong crowd, but we are talking about mass murder here; these things are so drastically and obviously far apart that it’s humorous…only if he wasn’t going to get years taken from him and from his newborn son over bad humor and ignorantly outlandish language.

At least someone needs to speak up for him considering the way the AP and various news outlets are vilifying him; damning him him as the antagonist in their story. So I’ll speak up for him however I can, with an identity behind my voice or not, because what is going on is not right.

    • 19, criminal record, on house arrest, not in school, making threats, and a baby?! He’s on the right track! He is a future statistic.

Why is it so many morons have babies early? Don’t you all know about condoms? The Pill is cheap!

His newborn son should be removed from the home and placed where it has a chance. This guy is a loser.

    • You can defend your girlfriends thug brother all you want. He is a criminal with a rap sheet at the young age of 19. He has not shown any care for anyone else while he is victimizing them, so you can drop the whole ‘years away from his newborn” garbage.
I am sure you know how many times he has been arrested. It is for HIM to figure out that he is causing his own problems.
If he wants to be a good father, he can drop the gang signs, get rid of the “zombies” bracelet, stop posing with wads of cash like he is a huslter, learn the english langauge, get a dipolma, get a job, and stop breaking the law.

  6. Of course the cops were right for being safe for looking into the situation, nobody has disputed that. Nobody has turned him into an angel either, re-read my comments and your foolish and rash exaggeration will reveal it’s stupidity. Yes he was on house arrest; he was already serving his punishment, following the rules, and complying to all court orders. What he said in person was a joke, and what he reiterated on Twitter was a declaration about how he wasn’t being serious. IT IS PLAIN TO SEE, so any subsequent punishment needs to recognize the lack of real intent and understand the context of inappropriate behavior, not murderous motivations.

The gang activity was garbage too, he was arrested because of facebook pictures affiliating him with someone that had committed a crime; him not actually committing one himself. If he would of had a lawyer, those bs charges wouldn’t have stuck. If this type of charge was legitimate then Wiz Kalifa should be arrested everytime he says “Taylor Gang” on a track. So I don’t want to hear any more of these reaching judgments made in blind contempt.

The battery charge was from a fight. Who hasn’t been in a fight before?

While he hasn’t made the best decisions over the years, he doesn’t need to get locked up for years when he was on the right track, all because of the perpetuation of his distasteful but benign comments by high schoolers and their obsessions with social media.

    • In my opinion, Wiz Kalifa should also be in jail for that garbage he passes off as music.

  7. Its sad he he has chose to follow his father’s example, but that is what he has done. The only real way to curb his behavior and attempt to point him in the right direction is to show him the reality of his chosen life style is to let him serve some jail time and give him the felon title he is so desperately seeking.

Second chances didn’t work for his father so I doubt it will work for him.
