Evansville Colleges React To Kavanaugh/Ford Senate Judiciary Hearing

In front of a Senate Judiciary Committee, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford faced questions about her alleged sexual assault by Judge Brett Kavanaugh during a high school party back in 1982.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh denies all allegations and spoke out in his defense. Allegations of sexual assault were the center of a historic hearing in Washington.

Dr. Robert Dion, a political science professor at University of Evansville said, “We’re having another national discussion about how women are treated about whether we believe them or not when they were victims of misbehavior or sexual assault.”

Dion says this hearing is part of a bigger societal issue. “Sadly enough this grilling of this woman who has come forward is an opportunity for Americans to reflect on whether we can do better as a society.”

While the Senate determines if Dr. Ford’s allegations are in fact true. The future balance of the Supreme Court is in their hands.

Dion says, “Clearly we want to be fair to all sides involved and the Senate is making a high-stakes decision so they want to be as fair as they can and hear from both sides.”

Students we caught up with at the University of Southern Indiana agree vetting Kavanaugh is key to whether he will be confirmed.

Marshall Gruber, a sophomore at USI said, “It’s certainly important to make sure we are nominating people to the supreme court that has integrity that we want to be judging other people on the merits of very important issues going forward but at the same time it’s really he said she said with not a whole lot of evidence.”

Dion says it’s extremely rare and dangerous for someone to come out with false accusations.

“If she would come forward and say something flatly false and demonstrably false for political reasons she’s really disrupting her life and possibly destroying her reputation the whole notion that this is cooked up for some political grand purpose seems a little bit far fetched. ”

  1. This was the most shameful exhibition of destructive politics ever orchestrated by the Democrat party of Senator Donnelley. The nation sees it for what it was. Only Mike Braun can be trusted to represent Indiana in the US Senate. The Democrats have no shame.

  2. I watched as if I’m on a jury. She was not sure of the day of the week or month the assault took place. I’m sure she was told to say that because he had records of his time. I feel for her being put in that situation by my Democratic Party. I can’t find him guilty. If Sen. Donnelly votes against him I will change my vote against him.

  3. The Democrats used Dr. Ford like a mental prostitute. They breached her confidence by releasing a private letter without her consent. That politically motivated and intentional delay denied her a chance for justice. To hell with the Democrats. I shall never ever vote for another one. Those vultures were willing to destroy two lives for political goals. Beer, farting, and barfing were the objects of discussions and the idiot democrats brought it all up. Donelly is a decent man. I voted for him last time. If he repudiates the actions of his fellow democrats and votes for Kavanaugh I may again. Anything less and Braun gets my vote.

  4. Robert Dion’s bias is obvious. He apparently want to take a women’s word with no proof over that of a man. Dr. Ford’s testimony was not convincing or credible. Dion knows she did not voluntarily come forward, she was put in a losing situation. Robert Dion, as with most liberals, think they have a monopoly on brains and all others are ignorant. And that’s exactly so many conservatives are holding political office. Even liberals that hold political office have to act like a conservative to get elected. Dr. Ford, a supposedly intelligent woman could not recall, time, place, date, how she got to the party, total fabrication that only a mother, father, priest or a liberal would believe. African American men know than any others about having their lives ruined because of false accusation or really just lies about them from mostly white women.

  5. Love how the liberal Dion states that both sides need to be heard, but then claims that there is no way Ford would ever consider lying. This is the type of mental disorder that runs rampant in our schools systems and universities. Citizens need to start moving these folks out of the system if they cannot show both sides of an issue fairly and logically.

  6. Let’s look at some facts. She was used and abused. Is this still America? Are you guilty till you prove your innocence? The FBI , let’s not call it an investigation, will gather facts and not reach a conclusion. FBI background is he said, she said, they said. It is not a criminal case, they can’t investigate it because they have no jurisdiction. As the judge stated, Montgomery County would have to investigate a criminal case. As the prosecutor told the Republicans, there is no case. A couple of points the Reps should have countered with all day long. She was not told by her lawyers, all Dem liberals or DiFi that she could have told her story in CA in private. She was supposedly afraid to fly, funny, when she wants to visit family or vacation in the S Pacific, she flies. All lies by the Dems. Now, let us go to the voodoo tool known as polygraph. There is a reason it is not admissible. Secondly, what supposed examiner, oh ex FBI, would conduct an exam on the day of her grand mother’s funeral, in a rush because she was leaving, in a hotel room? Now remember, supposedly her lawyers are pro bono, she didn’t pay for the exam, which begs, who did? You get what you pay for! Judge Kavanaugh has had 6 FBI checks and found no negative actions or habits. Do the Dems think the FBI will now say, shit we were wrong!!! The sad thing is that the Dems cannot say with a straight face that this was not a political hit job. Again, Ford, used and abused by DiFi and her clones. Each of the Ramirez or Sweatnick claims wreak of Dem politics as is evident by Avenatti showing his ass again! Another so called person says she knew Kavanaugh drank to access. Ok, but her roommate was the Ramirez hack. Come on, the FBI will do he said, she said, they said and a week from now we will know nothing except, the Dems and that idiot Flake, a RINO and not running again, have stalled the process. Donnelly, has already cut his political future since he said, no to the judge. If he sticks with this, Indiana will send him packing. Remember one of the core reasons Donald Trump was elected by us deplorables was the Supreme Court. That has been forgotten, but come November 6th, a lot of Dems and RINO Reps, will be saying, What the Hell just happened??? 2 lives and families have endured pure Hell, and will continue to, all in the name of Democratic hatred of Trump and Republicans. This is not about the court, it is all political theatrics. Sad state of affairs.
