The Screaming Eagles have six race days on the slate this Fall, starting with the Sam Bell Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana, August 30. The Sam Bell Invitational marks the first time the Eagles will compete in a cross country meet at Indiana University since the Hoosiers hosted the Indiana Intercollegiate in 2013.
USI gets the chance to preview the Ohio Valley Conference Championship course September 14 when it competes at the University of Tennessee Martin Cross Country OVC Preview in Union, Tennessee. UT Martin will serve as the host institution for this year’s conference meet.
The Eagles travel to Columbia, Missouri, to compete in the University of Missouri’s Gans Creek Classic September 27 before sending a squad to race at the Live in Lou Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park Louisville, Kentucky, on October 5.
USI wraps up the regular-season October 18 when it co-hosts the Angel Mounds Invitational with the University of Evansville at Angel Mounds. This is the second straight season the two universities have combined to host the meet.
The Eagles’ season concludes November 1 when USI competes at the OVC Championships.
This season marks the third year of a four-year transition process to Division I for the Eagles. Both the men’s and women’s squads are looking to capture their first OVC titles in 2024 after both teams finished second at the 2023 OVC Championships. The two teams combined for 41 Great Lakes Valley Conference titles at the Division II level.
