USI looks to get back on track and even the road trip record during the visit to Chicago State after falling short at Western Illinois University Wednesday, 86-78. The Eagles had three players in double-digits in the loss, led by senior forward Jacob Polakovich (Grand Rapids, Michigan), who had a season-high 18 points and game-high nine rebounds.

Junior guard Tyler Henry (Brooklyn, New York) and graduate forward Trevor Lakes (Lebanon, Illinois) rounded out the double-digit scorers at Western Illinois with 17 points and 11 points, respectively.

For the season, senior guard Jelani Simmons (Columbus, Ohio) leads five Eagles in double-digits through seven games with 14.9 points per contest. Polakovich follows Simmons with 12.2 points and a team-best 9.2 rebounds per contest.

Lakes has 11.1 points per outing, while Henry and junior guard Gary Solomon (Detroit, Michigan) complete the double-figure scorers with 10.3 points and 10.0 points per appearance, respectively.

The Cougars of Chicago State are 2-7 after falling at Bethune-Cookman University, 86-73, Thursday in Daytona Beach, Florida. Chicago State was led by sophomore guard Wesley Cardet in the setback at Bethune-Cookman with 27 points and for the season with 16.7 points per game.

USI and Chicago State the all-time series with the first meeting between the two programs Sunday.

The Eagles return to the friendly surroundings of Screaming Eagles Arena December 7 to play Anderson University (Indiana) and start a three-game homestand. USI also is slated to play Indiana State University December 11 and St. Mary’s of the Woods College December 15 during the homestand.
