DR RICHARD MOSS WILL RUN FOR CONGRESS IN REPUBLICAN PRIMARY

10

Dr. Richard Moss of Jasper, Indiana has announced that he will seek the nomination for Congress for the 8th Congressional district in the May 3, 2016 Republican primary.  He believes that Republican leadership in Washington has strayed from the voters that sent them there.

Dr. Moss is a board certified specialist in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Ear Nose and Throat). He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology at Indiana University, and completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the I.U. School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Moss has been in private practice since 1991 with offices in Jasper and Washington for over 20 years.  He previously had offices in Paoli, Tell City, and Huntingburg.  He is one of the original investors in the St. Thomas Surgery Center in Jasper.  He is a member of the Indiana State Medical Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Between 1987 and 1990, Dr. Moss traveled extensively throughout Asia, serving as a visiting surgeon on a voluntary basis at major medical centers in Thailand, Nepal, India, and Bangladesh. Although he received little or no compensation during these three years, he considers them among the most rewarding periods of his life.  He continues his volunteer work and extensive travel with his family around the world today.  Dr. Moss gives multi-media presentations and slide shows of his travels and work overseas at local schools and churches.

Dr. Moss has written a regular conservative column for the Dubois County Herald for more than ten years. He has written also for the Indianapolis Star, the Evansville Courier and Press, the Bloomington Herald-Times, the Petersburg Press Dispatch, and the Ferdinand News. He maintains a conservative blog (exodusmd.com) and has recently authored a memoir about his mother (Matilda’s Triumph).  He continues to write political columns that are distributed through his book signings and speaking engagements and often published. He is completing a second book about his life as a traveling cancer surgeon in Asia in hopes of promoting better understanding of the challenges of poverty, neglect, and advanced disease in the developing world. He also seeks to cultivate an appreciation of the excellent healthcare we enjoy here in the states and the freedom and opportunities that America uniquely provides.  Dr. Moss also founded and owned the Bronx Bagel, a bagel shop and deli in Jasper.

He has been married to his wife, Supit (“Ying”), for 26 years.  Supit was a nurse whom he met while working in Thailand.  She now assists him in his office.  They are proud parents of four children, Arielle (23), Noah (21), Adina (12), and Isaiah (11). Arielle is a recent graduate of I.U. Bloomington and winner of a Fulbright Scholarship to teach in Morocco where she now resides. Noah is currently studying Business Management at I.U. Bloomington. Adina and Isaiah attend Jasper Middle School.  All of the children play multiple musical instruments and perform regularly. Dr. Moss eagerly attends their many recitals, competitions, and performances and is actively engaged in the education and rearing of his children.

Dr. Moss and his family regularly participate in interfaith activities with local churches including a local food bank. They are members of the Temple Adath B’nai Israel (a synagogue) in Evansville.

Dr. Moss seeks office because of profound concerns over the direction of the country.  He feels that both parties have failed the American people.  He believes firmly that new leadership is required if the nation is to correct itself.

    • I agree, but not with the Establishment part.
Candidate for re-election Buschon shows up every day to do what his national lobbyist donors tell him to do.
Buschon has bosses. He shouldn’t, but he does, and votes for: Exactly. What. His. Bosses. Tell. Him.
      There is no authenticity. None.

  1. Bucshon is way to doughie to be a credible congressman. He’s also inaccessible and hasn’t done anything for the district.

  2. I thought I’d post this once again until one of the other news organizations picks this up and does some investigating.

Recently I received an official copy of the “Restraining Order Petition” between At-Large City Councilman Jonathan Weaver and one of his ex-wifes thats on file at the Vanderburgh County Clerk office. I find the Court findings concerning this petition extremely interesting.

I originally thought that I would make this public document available to the local media. However after a second thought, I decided to let our local media do the research and report the findings of the Court concerning a “Restraining Order Petition” filed against an elected public official.

If Courier and Press, TV Channels 25, 7. 14 and 44, and the City County Observer would like to have an official copy of this “Restraining Order Petition” they could pick one up at the Vanderburgh County Clerks Office. For your information I also understand that Mr. Weaver may have two (2) such petitions on file but the Judge sealed one of them from public view.

Finally, in my opinion the local media are duty bond to research and make this information public!

AFTER HEARING TESTIMONY FROM BOTH SIDES THE COURT CAN MAKE THE FOLLOWING FINDINGS:

    a. The Court could rule that Petitioner has shown, by a preponderance of the evidence, that domestic or family violence, stalking, or a sex offense has occurred sufficient to justify the issuance of this Order.

    b. The Court could rule if this order does/does not protect an intimate partner or child.

    c. The Court could determine if the Respondent represents a credible threat to the safety of the Petitioner or a member of the Petitioner’s household.

    d. The Court could determine if relief is necessary to bring about a cessation of the violence or the threat of violence.

    THE COURT COULD ORDER:

    1. The Court could enjoined the “Respondent” from threatening to commit or committing acts of domestic or family violence, stalking, or a sex offense against the Petitioner and the following designated family or household members.

    2. The Court could prohibited the “Respondent” from harassing, annoying, telephoning, contacting, or directly or indirectly communicating with the “Petitioner”.

    3. The Court could remove the “Respondent” and excluded him from the Petitioner’s residence.

    4. The Court can ordered the “Respondent” to stay away from the residence, school, and/or place of employment of the Petitioner. The Court could further ordered the “Respondent” to stay away from the following place(s) that is/are frequented by the Petitioner and/or the Petitioner’s family or household members.

    • How about just voting, and based on the politician’s record – and not his personal life?
Just cast your vote based on the record? (I don’t like Weaver either, but c’mon!)
      Cause,
this Greg guy, is something else.
Greg is why good people, perfectly ideal for public office, will not run.
Cause Greg lives to exploit people, I guess.
I even think Greg finds it appealing that his post here, thrown out like spaghetti on the wall and on any wall Greg can find. This sentence was taking down by the Editor because it was extremely demeaning and personal.
What a life. And he’s proud of it!

      • ED…I understand. It was demeaning, but appropriate for the behavior of Greg. Thanks for the note.

  3. I’m posting this stuff about his “personal life” as you put it, because the main media organizations are ignoring it. If they would actually do their jobs they would find a lot more about his so called “personal life” other than what I have alluded to.

As for me I couldn’t even name you all the people on the council. I could really careless about this guy if he wasn’t going around town acting like he can do the stuff I reported about with impunity because he is in a position of power which he thinks gives him some kind of immunity to the consequences of his actions.

Finally, it ceased to be about his “personal” life when his ex-wife got a judge to issue a publicly filed restraining order to get him to stop what he was doing to her.

If he would have just kept it to “his” personal life I wouldn’t have know about it or had to experience it myself and that would have been the end of it.

    • As a accosted one when briefly in your town, I agree weavers a overbearing pig, your city should remove him from the governance ASAP! The women who might share a simple outing for entertainment should keep a steady eye on their beverages while that little pigs in the room. He’s a swine, and a dastardly creep. Why the little crud continues to exceed with that type of horrid behavior in your town is beyond reproach, and any excuse brought into the mix.
