  1. There it is folks; the “Good Ole Boys list” in easy printable form. Take this list to the polls and vote against all who are opposed. There are some good people on this list, but, they are zombies; cogs in “The Machine”. …
    ctrl p

  2. Weaver? What office or position does he hold? Why is he in attendance?
These dems are out of touch with the constituancy they serve. Thats correct, YOU SERVE, not rule. The people are sick of being told what’s best. The people are supposed to tell you. The people will speak loud and clear, November 8th. They will elect a new, great leader. Rick Davis is that man. VOTE Rick Davis

  3. David Mosby has no right to say he is a democrat ward leader, he has republican signs in his yard and he daughter’s yard. BJ Watts is not a democrat, he is supporting the republicans. Curt John, Louise Williams, Z Tuley and Annie Groves are the exact same. This list is not a list of democrats, this is a list of bad representation of the Democrat Party. This is just a list of scared people. November 8th is going to be a sunny day for the real democrats when Rick Davis, Dr. H. Dan Adams and Al Lindsey win this election. PICK DAVIS, LINDSEY AND ADAMS FOR A GREATER EVANSVILLE!!!

    • Just because you are a democrat doesn’t mean that you have to support all democrats. It’s about being for good government!

        • OR, they just don’t want to go down with the ship. You back me or I blab about you kind of thing.

Here is some interesting stuff. At least it is to me. It is a lttle long, but worth the read.
There is a common denominator between Winnecke, Robinson, Tom Barnett, and Rev Brooks.
The Evansville Brownfield Corp is a not for profit group that buys property around Evansville for development. Robinson is listed as the director of that Corp on tax returns and is also an elected city council member. The Brownfield Corp has the same address as the DMD. Barnett is the head of DMD and the employer of Louise Williams. Williams is Robinson’s right hand woman and has been very active in the Winnecke campaign for several months.
When you contact Brownfield, you are actually dealing with DMD. The DMD received a 501 (c)3 status under the Brownfield Corp name. That allows for them to meet without public notice and they do not have to provide any information on their activity to the public. Most people think that the conection between the “two” groups makes it an issue of public money being used without public input. Legally it does not, but it should be.
The County Commision (Winnecke) had previously conveyed parcels straight to DMD. When DMD received their 501(c)3 status they requested the parcels no longer be conveyed to them, but placed up for sale where they would bid on and win the parcels. This change was agreed upon by County Attorney Ted Ziemer. Ziemer just donated over $17,000 to the Winnecke campaign.
The ability for Brownfield to drive up the price during an auction prevented the avereage citizen from having any fair shot at getting the property. A property at 1112 Parrett was bought by Brownfield in July of 2009. It was assessed at $132,600, but they paid $190,000 for it. No individual would have been able to get a loan for $57,000 over the assessed value.
How can Brownfield afford to make those kind of bad decisions? It helps when DMD is loaning Brownfield multiple loans that in 2009 were as much as $84,662- $55,632- $50,700- and $80,353. There are more as Brownfield received $2,629,750.64 in 2009 alone. Not all of it from DMD, but DMD gave money under DMD Grants and Economic Development Loans.
These properties are bought above value, then transferred to other not-for- profit groups. Those groups then develop them and sell them at a gain for them. These groups are HOPE of Evansville, Habitat for Humanity, and last but not least–The Memorial Community Development Corp. Memorial Community Corp is headed up by Rev. Brooks, Pastor of Memorial Baptist Church.
So with taxpayer money, here is what is happening. Winnecke and the commission auction off property at a price way over assessed value. They know that it will be bought by Brownfield because DMD funds Brownfield and they have unlimited resources. The average bidder is left out in the cold. Brownfield then transferes it to other groups, including Memorial Community Development Corp. No wonder Brooks thinks so highly of Robinson. He thinks she the most effective person they have in politics. Based on this, I would say he is right. Too bad it’s shady.
The amount of taxpayer money being lost and/or exchanging hands is hidden under the cloak of Brownfield’s 501(c)status. No transperancy.
This behavior is for the beneift of a few and this is the beginning. No wonder they dont want Davis to get into the mayor’s office.
          Reply

          • How, if ever, does DMD pay back its sources of funding for properties it donates? Is all of the DMD’s funding from grants?

      • If I’m a D, but if I support a R, my business. BUT If I’m in a position on a BOARD, you have bylaws and follow them. If you can’t, step down and do your thing. That simple. Plus I had no idea Connie has been the Queen of the 4th ward so long! She’s been suckleing for a long time. Never occurred to me.

    • Does that mean Lindsey isn’t a democrat. He had republican signs in his yard when he lost to Mosby and Watts in the past. He openly worked for the republicans. I guess thats alright.
      Jack Waldroup

        • Mosby takes credit for everyone who was ever been hired by the city from the west side. Those lies only last so long. Sooner or later people figure out people like Mosby. This time it just took a little longer.

      • Was he the Rep of the Demo party in anyway? Just asking. This has been a real learning experience for me.

      • Thank goodness you are there to keep everyone straight Jack. Open up your books and let’s see how much you have profited by being Mosby’s and Weinzapfel’s lap dog.

        • Anytime you want to look give me a call. I just thought if you couldn’t be a democrat when you put a republican sign in your yard, that it would apply to everyone that did it in the past.
          Jack Waldroup

          • Jack you can put anyone’s sign in your yard you want until you accept an office ( such as vice-chairman) at which point you are obligated to the party. I wouldn’t have a problem with what Connie did if she had resigned as vice-chairman first.

  4. The only names missing is Lloyd Winnecke and his wife Carol. Elect Winnecke, and you got 4 more years of the same Democrat machine.

    • That’s right. It doesn’t matter if these people are D or R, they are in bed with each other and have things to hide and sweet deals to protect. They all need to go. The only evidence you need is who is the ring leader of all this and who was/wasn’t included in the guest list.

      • You know you are on point when the name calling starts. It’s what happens when they can’t really say anything positive about their own peers.

        • And you need to understand how tax sale works because what you say about commissioners is way off the wall. Remember the county treasurer runs the auction of the deliquent parcels first. Any that end up on commissioners hands for disposal is because tax man Rick could not sell them or they were totally worthless to buyers at the county treasurers auction in first place.

          • From the price that was paid, I’d say they are worth a pretty penny. And was that house on Parrett street on tax sale?

    • Brownfield Corp , GAGE, Homestead credit. Winnecke and Weinzapfel were working side by side in all of these taxpayer funded fiascos. Both have remained silent about them. This resolution looks more like a vow of silence. Robinson has been behind those closed doors for a long time. The odds of her being left to face scrutiny alone was ZERO. Too many secrets, too many sweetheart deals.

      • Are you still mad about you got fired from DMD? Is that why you make up all this stuff?

        • My information is all in black and white. It only took a few minutes of searching the web to find it. All the numbers and names are there to read. I have posted at least one link already so you can read it at your pleasure.
My point on the auctions is the current system allows Brownfield to outbid everyone else even if the pay WAY over the assessed value. The loss they take involves the taxpayers because they receive tax money through DMD. The players involved, including Winnecke, know what is going on and say nothing.

As for getting fired from DMD, not hardly. I did hear they are down one employee after Carolyn Rusk stormed out of the office after getting into a dispute with Barnett. Anybody got the scoop on that?

          • So you say Brownfields can outbid everyone at county treasurers auction too? Thats the first time the parcels are up for tax sale right? The county treasurer runs that auction not the commissioners. Davis is county treasurer not Winnecke. How come Davis lets this stuff you claim go on in his auction? Its only the junk parcels no one wants that make it to the county commissioners tax sale after Davis cant sell them right? Tell whole story.

  5. At least now we know what the meeting was all about: defending the indefensible. It was circle the wagons time!

  6. You Davis supporters can mudsling all you want against Connie Robison but the “Democrats Sign Resolution of Support for Councilwoman Robinson” is a very significant document and a clear sign of the dislike for Mayoral Candidate Davis and his campaign staff. Connie Robinson is a good person and an excellent councilperson for the 4th Ward citizens as well as the rest of the City is not being treated fairly by certain few elements of the Democrat Party.

Fact: Democrat Connie Robinson openly announced her support for Republican Winnecke for Mayor. All of the real Democrat leadership in Evansville/Vanderburgh County come out and openly supported Connie Robinson knowing of her support for Republican Winnecke over Democrat Davis.

There is a gigantic lack of confidence in Davis’s ability to lead this great City to the next level. You can pretend this not significant, but it is real and big and will not be ignored Nov 6.

Mayoral Candidate Davis and his campaign staff are a real embarrassment to the Party.

    • Well I can assure you that Davis supporters know the election is on November 8th, not the 6th. If you can’t get that basic fact correct, it kind of takes away from the rest of your post.

The letter says that she has given thousands of dollars to the party and because of that, any and all issues pertaining to Connie Robinson should be resolved by the Vanderburgh Democratic Central Committee. It never says she did not violate the rules or that they all support Winnecke.
What the resolution is doing is asking the state party to let them handle the punishment for the violation. That my friend, is like letting the defense attorney decide a guilty clients sentence.

    • GoldenT, the article should be titled “Democratic Central Committee insiders and other disloyal Democrats” sign best friends forever petition absolving another disloyal local Democratic party leader for dereliction of her duty as an Democratic office holder to support their own candidates. The smell from the Demo HQ was so bad the State Democratic party had to step in and funds ads for the local Democratic party’s primary winning candidate for Mayor. These disloyal Central Committee insiders care not about the registered Democrats that voted in the Democratic primary for Mr. Davis to lead their ticket, they just care about keeping whatever power, position and salaries they enjoy. It’s just that simple.

    • It’s not lack of… They are confident that dirty, shady, sneagle ways are going to be uncovered. They can’t afford transparency. And from Lloyd’s record we see he doesn’t believe in it either.

    • Mud slinging? Google this like the rest of us! It’s time to take the rose colored glasses off.

    • “You Davis supporters can mudsling all you want against Connie Robison but the “Democrats Sign Resolution of Support for Councilwoman Robinson” is a very significant document ”

Your “Very Significant Document” and a buck could get you something off the dollar menu at McDonalds, it’s only significant to the people who signed it, after all we’re talking about politicians, political hacks, and sock-puppets as the signers. You act like it’s the Declaration Of Independence…oh wait it was for them wasn’t it? a declaration of independence from their responsibilities to their party.

      Sad…very sad.

      JMHO

      • blanger, good points. Selected Central Committee insiders at a secret meeting signed a Sham Petition that Ms. Robinson’s disloyal acts are acceptable to them. Yup, that’s basically what it says. Note many of the Central Committee insiders are doing what Ms. Robinson did, some in a more subtle way. Dr. Dan Adams and Gail Riecken (who I was very hard on for the Urbana state house walkout) recognized the sham coverup, refused to sign and left the meeting. I have a strong feeling the Democratic State party is not done with the disloyal splinter group “leading” our local Democratic party for their own personal vendettas and enrichment.

    • Connie was paid off from the start. The Republican party could have named someone to run against her in the fall after the primary, they chose not to. The reason. Robinson could not have come out against Davis if she had a Republican opponent. If they were only as smart as they think they are or we as dumb as they are. Good try you political geniuses.

I am curious how many people from Robinson’s 4th ward lost their child care vouchers when Winnecke voted to eliminate the Welfare to Work program? I am sure it affected hard working single mothers from other areas of town too, but she claims he has done a lot for her ward. Anybody know the numbers on that?

    Found it.

There were 330 kids from low income families that lost the much needed vouchers. In an article from the C&P dated August 9,2002, Winnecke defended his vote by saying they already do plenty for the poor. These were not lazy people who had a desire to mooch off the government. They were hard working single mothers who were trying to make a better life for their families. The ultimate goal was to live comfortably without any long term government assistance. The taxpayers were also beneficiaries of this program when the moms no longer needed the help.
Winnecke turned his back on them when they needed his support the most.

If you buy a parcel at the treasurers sale, you have to pay off any leans against the property. The starting bid is whatever amount the lean is. Davis has no control over the lean amount. It is based on the previous owners outstanding taxes.
If there are no buyers, the parcel goes to the commissioners sale. At that sale, there is no longer a lean on the parcel so the bids basically start at zero. There are cases where neighboring propery owners wish to buy the property once the lean is no longer in play. Brownfiled shows up and outbids them by paying more than the assessed value. The regular guy can’t get a loan for over the value. Brownfield has deep pockets due to DMD sending tax dollars thier way. That being said, Brownfield/DMD has paid $190,00 for parcels that appraised at $132,600. Then they offered it up to someone for $30,000.
The taxpayers are being ripped off by the current system. If it were not true, DMD would operate only as DMD and not under the cloak of secrecy they enjoy using the 501(c)3 status as Brownfield.

    • Maybe if Davis wins you get your job back or even get Carolyn Rusk open slot. Then you can fix this big mess right?

      • There’s the negative words. I must be on point again. Thanks.
And no, I do not, have not, nor would I ever work at DMD.

        • JustTrying –

You are on a roll this week!! Thank you for bringing to light some of the crap this group of Weinzapfel minions is trying to hide. They are so afraid that I almost feel sorry for them. But then I don’t.

Keep it up. You’re doing a great service for our community, by revealing what’s going on, and what will continue if Winnecke is elected.

Personally, I have faith that Evansville is tired of it all, and they will vote for Davis.

        • Not sure if there is confusion here, but I was fired by DMD and, yes, it still tastes a little bitter. Particularly since, for 8 dollars an hour I had to take Carolyn Rusk’s orders like a drill sergeant, watch as no one seemed interested in helping the client, which we all know to be taxpayers. That is, unless, you were a “VIP” (i.e. Ms. Robinson, Rev. Brooks, Troy Tornatta), then you got right in to see Mr. Barnett, who has the leadership skills of a rock. Meanwhile, political hacks such as Louise Williams (Ms. Robinson’s right-hand gal-pal) gets to do online shoe shopping on the taxpayer’s dime. I could go on and on. The point is, Trying is right about DMD corruption. Plus, no, I wouldn’t want to ride that train-wreck again, but I think it is important that the people of Evansville know these things.

    • No governmental entity, such as the Evansville Department of Metropolitan Development, should be allowed to set up a not-for-profit corporation to carry on activities that the governmental entity was prohibited by statute from doing.

The fact that Tom Barnett and Connie Robinson are on the board of the 501C make an even more compelling case to disallow such schemes from ever taking place.

      __

      • Legally, Evv Brownfields exists separately from DMD, but Tom Barnett still calls the shots with Ms. Rusk at the switch, and EBC is housed in the DMD office. But ask either Mr. Barnett or Ms. Rusk that and see the skating in circles really start!

  9. GoldenToe has brought a great question to light.

If the property at 1112 Parrett was for sale through the treasurers office before the Commissioners sale, why did they not get it when all they would have had to pay was the lean? It sold for $118,000 in 1999 and was assessed at $132,600 on the day of the sale. I have not heard any facts that would lead me to believe it had been renovated. That is why Brownfield/DMD was willing to sell it for $30,000.
Obviously nobody bid on it or it would not have made it to the commissioners sale. Had Brownfield bid at the first sale, they would have gotten it for a lot cheaper than $190,000. The treasurer would have recouped the delinquent taxes and added them to the coffers. Under the current system, Brownfield /DMD uses government money in a wasteful way. Both sales are ran by government agencies. Why then would they choose to wait until the second sale to bid on all properties?

  10. If the state democratic party is upset with the local Democratic Central Committee, can they either remove them or decertify them from the party? We’ve heard that the local party has thought about leaving the state party but can it be done the other way around?

  11. Maybe this would be a good time to move to Newburgh, or even Kentucky. Who needs all of this bickering?

  12. And with Connie’s net worth as large as it is, can you clowns afford to make her angry?

    I think NOT!

    • I think we’re okay with taking the chance. We’re trying to better this city. We’re a little less concerned with how Connie feels about it.

      ENOUGH!

    • Thank you for summing it all up for us.
This city has been led by power hungry, backdoor dealing, sweat heart contract getting, taxpayer fleecing people for a long time. When even their supports refer to the fear tactics used by those people as a reason for us to keep quiet, it is time for a change.

NOW IS THE TIME FOR US TO STAND TOGETHER AND DEMAND CHANGE. WE DEMAND AN OPEN, HONEST GOVERNMENT THAT WORKS FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE.

There are several times where Weinzapfel and Winnecke have stood together, and sat in silence, at the expense of the taxpayers! Winnecke has shown he will not stand up to Weinzapfel. He even said he would never run against him for the mayor’s office.
For us to reclaim our city, we must rally our friends and families and make a difference at the polls. It does not do the community any good for a few of us to communicate on here while the folks who do not read this blog are not aware of what is going on. I encourage all of you to do your own research on these issues and share your findings with those you care about.
Do not let fear or lack of awareness allow this city to continue on it’s current course.

  13. Henry
My responce was to usa106 and fedup about the Mosbys and Watts
not being Democrats because of yardsigns.
If the local Democrat Party goes by state and local by-laws,any offical of the party must not work against a democrat candidate. They can be removed from their position in the party if they do. When I was chairman I removed a committeeman for the same thing. I think Connie is a great democrat and has worked very hard for the party. Would have been best if she wanted to support Winnecke she could have step down as vice chair. Same thing I told David Mosby about being ward leader.

  14. Thanks so much for printing the Resolution with all the supporter’s names listed.
I will make sure not to vote for anyone who is listed on the letter.
I agree with several of the previous posts. Anyone who is a member of the Democratic Central Committe or holds an officer position within the Democratic Party (feel the same if it was Republican)- should not be publicly supporting a candidate from the opposing party.
However, it is their right to vote for whatever candidate they chose when they cast their vote on election day.

  15. You can’t spell Weasel without Weasie?

How in the heck did that woman get a job in DMD. I hear she don’t do nothing but shop online and do stuff for Winnecke.

How much dies she get for registering people and “helping” them vote.

Evansville’s machine democrats make that 40 acres and a mule scene from Gone with the Wind look like reality.

  16. Well at least she is WOMAN enough to admit her support for Winnecke!!!! My vote is for her and all other women candidates!!!

    • So you vote based on gender? how about an individuals position on topics? or their record of doing what they say? what if your not given a woman to vote for…like for mayor, oh let me guess you’ll vote for Winnecke.

      Is that you Missy?
