  Around 9:00 a.m., on today’s date, the Evansville Police Department (E.P.D.) was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Buena Vista in regards to a 2 year old not breathing. E.P.D. officers were first to arrive and were let into the residence by the child’s father.
The first responding officer found the child unresponsive and started CPR prior to the Evansville Fire Department’s (E.F.D.) arrival a short time later. E.F.D. assessed the child and called off any further life saving measures. Â
 The child’s father said they had went to the store the night before and, after arriving back to the residence, he put his daughter to bed around 9:30 p.m. This morning, when he went in to check on her, he found her unresponsive.
  The Evansville Police Department’s Adult, Juvenile, and Crime Scene Detectives were all called to the scene. The Department of Child Services (D.C.S.) arrived at the address as well. The investigation is ongoing.
