This is a couple of days late–forgive me–but it deals with the new cloverleaf being built by INDOT at US 41 and the Lloyd.
Article in C & P on Monday/Tuesday of this week: Steve Schaefer is interviewed re: Winnecke going on site and “reviewing the plans and progress” for about an hour . . . and that Winnecke was “pleased”.
These tyrants have no remorse–so Winnecke will proclaim credit for bringing this cloverleaf project to Evansville, and state that he personally monitored the project and kept it on time and under budget !
Just read that the Zac Brown Band is ‘unable’ to reschedule a date to play the Fraud Center… Unable? What the hell does that mean?
I’d not be interested in going anyway but I would like toi know why they are ‘unable.’
As to the train disaster in Philly – liberal democrats are blaming Republicans for failing to spend enough money on Amtrak and the infrastructure needed to maintain it. This accident is not about infrastructure, not in any sense.
Amtrak recieves some one Billion dollars each year just for that purpose. The liberals do not see a train disaster, rather, they see an opportunity to attack the Conservative right.
Never mind the engineer was running more than TWICE the speed limit on this section of track coming in to a turn. The absolute insanity of the left never fails to amaze and the sheeple will buy it hook, line and sinker.
Amtrak should run without government subsidies and make a profit in it’s own right or it should be shut down. The government is not capable of much these days and running Amtrak off the rails is a fine example.
Dude, China spent $88B on high speed rail in 2009, the estimate for this year is over $120B
Amtrak’s whole budget is less than $2B, Europe spends nearly that much on architectural drawings. The UK by itself is spending $80B.
A three minute internet search would have prevented you from showing yourself to be a being a brainwashed ignorant fool. Let’s me guess you got your info from Fox, or was it Breitbart, or no wait the National Review.
I’m not much on the Daily Kos Brains but this article is a good reference of your argument:
My wife and I were considering using Amtrak to go from Palm Springs to Seattle this summer. The tickets were $880 each and the trip was 36 hours each way. We opted to fly for $340 each with the transit time being less than 4 hours each way including the early arrival for TSA procedures.
We would love to ride the train but the cost and timing are prohibitive. As long as it stays that way we will always fly. Now if I have a meeting in downtown LA that is close to Union Station the train is a decent option, but only if my destination is near to the station.
So, you are a liberal loon. Just as I suspected.
You’re only the 10th conservative on this board to call me names and question my families heritage BUT AGAIN you don’t say I’m wrong OR WHY. Seems to be pattern here.
Look, nut job – you called me a “a brainwashed, ignorant fool.” Name calling is what liberal loons always resort to. Do you believe the crash occured because of infrastructure?
Amtrak is run off the rails because it is government controlled. Turn it over to private business and investment then watch high speed rail develop. Government is the problem.
Is that why the government run high-speed rails in China, Japan and Europe run at speeds three times faster than our rails with a better safety record?
China built their rail system with a stimulous package just like owebama’s. Where is out stimulous package?
You’ll see an infrastructure stimulus package that will make your eyes bug out if a Pub becomes president in 2016. Just like if Romney would have won the “Drunken Sailor” statute would have been adopted and money would have flowed like snot out of a red headed step child’s nose into say, (bullet trains)
That’s not always the case, for instance, the Indiana toll road the consortium took over then went bankrupt on, the prison system being privatized then lobbies the legislature to pass more laws to fill the beds costing us taxpayers an unnecessary fortune, the Indiana lottery subbed out to private business was about the dumbest damn thing I’ve ever seen creating a middle man to suck up profits we taxpayers should reap instead, the Medicare system operates at 3% overhead where the private insurance industry operates around 30%, and I’m glad we didn’t wait on private industry to finance and build the Interstate System or we would have a toll booth every 5 miles.
Naturally the fetish we like to spend our money on is our military where China doesn’t invade anyone which keeps their military budget within reason and allows them to come in and buy up all the resources after things chill out like they are doing in Afghanistan and actually all over: http://www.businessinsider.com/china-just-made-a-massive-play-for-afghanistans-resources-2012-6
That leaves enough Renminbis to play with bullet trains with but we’ll never grasp the concept.
