Councilwoman Riley to Introduce Resolution to Rescind Earthcare Loan Approval
Evansville City Councilwoman Stephanie Riley today announced that she intends to introduce a resolution next week to rescind the approval of the Earthcare Energy loan approval that passed under duress by a single vote back in March.
Earlier this week it was announced by City of Evansville attorney Ted Ziemer that the bonds that must be sold to fund the Earthcare Energy loan for $4.8 Million and that the loan could be funded as early as next week. Councilwoman Riley stresses the importance that in order to introduce the resolution to rescind the loan approval that the bonds should not be sold before introduction of the resolution to rescind.
Riley released the findings of her personal discovery process yesterday that included bankruptcies, failed businesses, tax liens, and arrests records attributed to the management team of Earthcare Energy. She also highlighted how material misrepresentations had been made by Earthcare officers to the Evansville City Council during the loan application process. Since that release near unanimous support has been expressed by the people of Evansville to rescind the approval which was passed after Ken Haney of Earthcare issued an ultimatum to the City Council.
Councilwoman Riley requests that the people of Evansville make join her in opposing this loan and the sale of the bonds to fund it. She calls upon the citizens of this city to contact the 5 members of the Evansville City Council who voted for this loan (Robinson, Adams, O’Daniel, Mosby, & Weaver) along with Mayor Winnecke who has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Earthcare Energy deal and ask them to hold off on issuing these bonds until after the next City Council meeting on May 14, 2012.
At that meeting Councilwoman Riley asks that the concerned citizens of Evansville pack the chambers of the City Council and demand that this previously ignored material information be discussed prior to moving forward with the Earthcare Energy loan.
Somebody needs to start a petition to end this stupidity. John Friend did a good petition against the Vectren rate increases, hopefully someone will step forward and give the people a voice on this idiocy. Dropping 5,000 signatures on the council on May 14th might get their attention. Logic certainly has not been working.
I would sign it.
Mosby, Weaver, and Robinson will still vote the same. Arrogance!!!
Flash back 100 years ago and someone would have challenged them to a duel by now.
Or come calling at night and laid a good ass whipping on them in their front yard.
Ask Ms. Riley to style the petition and put a link in this article so her many supporters can print it out and start getting signitures to present at next City council meeting!
When people fear the government we have tyrrany but when government fear the people we have liberty!
Why are you asking Stephanie to do everything. Why don’t you and some of the others on this sight step up to the task? You should be able to write a petition and begin collecting signatures.
Time to contact U S Attorney Office, Political Crime Taskforce toll free number and file a formal against The Mayor, Gage, Robinson, Weaver, Mosby, O’Daniel, Adams, City Attorney-Ziemer and City Controller, Russ Lloyd,Jr.so they can begin to investigate this entire Earthcare deal. Call 317-229-2443 to file your formal request for the investigation!
I don’t understand why you are instructing others to contact the US Attorney office? Why don’t you do so.
Yeah!
Even Al Lindsey, repeat Al Lindsey, recognized Earth Care as a $4.8 million scam. Is he be smarter than the Mayor, Dr. Adams and Mr. O’Daniel We hope not for City’s sake. The Mayor, Dr. Adams and Mr. O’Daniel should join SBR’s petition and lead the charge to rescind Earthcare based on all the information “discovered” by SBR.
Vote for Councilwoman Stephanie Brinerhoff-Riley for the next Mayor of Evansville! She has what it take to insure that the taxpayers of Evansville are receiving a good dose of “GOOD PUBLIC POLICY”! Even more important, she shall be the first lady Mayor of Evansville.
Hey Stephanie is there any truth to the strong rumor the the President of GAGE, Debbie Dewey is making over $120,000 per year (not including benefits? Is it also correct that 3 elected City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County officials push her to receive not only a large raise in salary but also gave her a big bonus starting this year?
Could it be safe to say that the above elected City and County officials were Marsha Abell, The new Mayor of Evansville and Tom Shelter, Jr!
$120,000 is overpriced for those job duties. I would rather pay Keep Evansville Beautiful that kind of money and get more benefit for it than sending this money to GAGE.
Dd
Anyone got any bets on whether or not the C&P will actually publish Stephanie’s Report? It’s a sad day in Evansville if not. B%$#@^#!
My bet would be no. Her work makes the CP look more inept than Winnecke and Dewey. How can they even call themselves a newspaper and ignore things like this? The car dealers must be for the Earthcare deal and are telling the CP to leave it alone or lose their ads.
We will have a petition to sign tomorrow. I’m going to watch my son race his car tonight, but I’ll have it up by tomorrow at noon. For all of those who have now decided that I’m crazy (I was a former porn star last week), I have great kids, a wonderful husband and a fantastic business- I couldn’t be happier. This is about the taxpayers of Evansville, and my dedication to their pocket book. Have a wonderful weekend.
First “porn star” and then, at the final end of the worst of all filthy insults be ready for, “fiscal conservative”. Get ready SBr, you may even be called an elitist for just wondering how this and other obvious giveaways make any sense. A brain and a backbone make a combination that may with palms up don’t appreciate. Good for you.
Stephanie
During the Sewers Before Stadium campaign, they threatened my family and my business, called me a crook, and even spread rumors that I was on meth (lol!). These people are used to getting whatever they want without having to answer any questions. They will come after you, and come after you hard. Be ready for it, and know that nothing is more powerful than simply telling the Truth.
Andrew
Stephanie also needs to be aware that there will be concerted efforts to keep her from getting her truths out. Someone has the Courier by the short hairs on this deal and has for a couple of months. A full release of her supporting evidence will serve to silence her opposition.
It is looking like there are only a few people who really want this anyway so if the people speak loudly and sign the petition this thing will be overturned. If not a lot of people just need to move. Hopefully Evansville has not degenerated into a place where a half a dozen puppet masters and a dozen puppets can really call wasteful shots for 117,400 people.
If you want to understand the relationship between most media outlets and the power elite, read up on “temple prostitutes.”
It has always been that way, and probably always will.
Proud of you Stephanie Brinkerhoff Riley.
Could this be the beginning of the end of the machine? Please Lord let it be.

thank you stephanie
Send Earth-Careless packing. Sign Stephanie’s petition so just this once, the machine does not win.
People of Vanderburgh County, VOTE NO ON CONSOLIDATION OR THE COUNTY WILL HAVE ITS MONEY SQUANDERED ON JUNK LIKE EARTHCARE. If this pile of crap does not prove that the City of Evansville is not a worthy partner to merge with, nothing will. Who would want to merge their mind with idiots like this.
this old burg is so beat down its leaders, whoever they may be at any given time, would get in bed with old scratch hisself if they thought it would bring a couple of minimum wage jobs to town. thats right kids, all of your tax dollars and all of your angst are directed at getting minumum wage jobs. you really should aim higher.you have nothing to lose.
