Indiana State Police Detectives assigned to the Sellersburg and Versailles Post brought a close to a thirty year old murder case.

On October 19th, 1983, Johnny Hodge, 34, an inmate at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, was murdered in his cell. Hodge was incarcerated for life on a double murder at the time.

Information came forward that led to the arrest of Paul D. Stucker, 52 of Scottsburg, Indiana, in Gretna, Louisiana, this Tuesday, March 19th, 2013, morning, on a warrant issued out of LaPorte County for Felony Murder by the U.S. Marshalls out of the New Orleans District office.

Stucker was an inmate at the Michigan City Prison at the same time as Hodge when the murder occurred.

Stucker was incarcerated at the Jefferson Parrish Sheriff’s Department Jail in Louisiana awaiting extradition back to Indiana.

The U.S. Marshalls and Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force were instrumental in the arrest.
