  1. Enjoyed this great read. I hope someone pays special attention to last transfer request. Taking funds from every available account to pay for fire and police health insurance. If I am a firefighter or police officer, I am concerned about my health insurance. 12 years of this mismanagement. No one will question or challenge, just accept it and move on. I feel for Mayor Elect Terry and clearly the mess she and her team has inherited.

A key to the city should go to the controller Russ Lloyd, he has been busy covering everything up since the loss on election night. No accountability. But the City Christmas Tree sure looks nice after the redo.

    • (…not defending, nor criticizing, any and all City and/or Council budget management processes. It’s a worthwhile subject.

But the subject of “why can’t they just find it easy to pay everyone’s health insurance? Are they thieves or just plain stupid for not just paying the damn ever-increaseing health insurance costs? Just pay my damn insurance!! Why are the scrambling to find funds to pay those never-stop increasing costs? They’re dumb-asses!”

The point is: If you can find any company, ANY company, in the US that is not struggling to figure out how to keep pace with unbelievable annual increases in their employees health insurance costs, then you take the prize in the whole country.)

“Just pay my damn health care insurance! You inept fool!” It’s not that simple. Maybe it’s easy for you to say, but it’s not easy to fund 10-15% increases in annual health care costs, year after year after year. Those costs are rising higher than ANY other part of everyone’s budget. But? What you’re kind of really saying is, “Take care of me. F- the rest of the annual budget for parks, sewers, road maintenance, etc.”
