Earlier today, Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter promoted Sergeant Brad Cieslack to the rank of Lieutenant to serve as the Area Investigative Commander.
Cieslack is a native of Richland City and a 1987 graduate of South Spencer High School.  Cieslack attended Vincennes University and received an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement. He later obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Oakland City University.
In December 1994, Cieslack graduated from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was assigned to the Seymour Post. The following year he transferred to the Jasper Post and primarily patrolled Dubois County. Cieslack was promoted to detective in 1996 and primarily investigated crimes in Dubois County. In October 2005, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Evansville District where he supervised the district detectives.
Lt. Cieslack is now the Commander of Area III, which covers the Bloomington, Jasper and Evansville Districts.
Cieslack and his wife, Carla, reside in Warrick County with their three sons.
