EVANSVILLE, October 4, 2010 – On October 14, 2010, the Vanderburgh County Health Department will begin offering Influenza vaccines for children at our facility located at 420 Mulberry Street. From October 14, 2010 to November 18, 2010, flu vaccines will be offered every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., free of charge, on a walk-in basis, to children six months through eighteen years of age.

According to Health Officer Dr. Ray Nicholson, receiving an annual flu vaccination is the single most effective method to prevent the spread of the flu. Flu vaccinations are safe and effective.

All children must be accompanied by parent or guardian and their shot record.
