    The City-County Observer is pleased to announce the addition of an awards ceremony called “Community Service Award”. The “ Community Service Award” will honor individuals that have gone above and beyond the call of duty to achieve remarkable things in our community. This years winners have done immeasurable charitable acts to assist non-profits entities, created economic growth and enhanced the employability opportunities for people in our community. Our 1st Annual CCO “Community Service Awards” recognition luncheon will honor eight (8) local “Community Achiever’s” under the age of 45 years old. They are recognizedchase_kelley for the various ways that they have given back to the Greater Evansville Area.

    The City-County Observer applauds the efforts of individuals based on their professional, political and philanthropic contributions in the Tri-State Area. Our selection committie reviewed a 113 candidates list to be consider for the eight (8) “Community Service Awards”. Our eight winners will be acknowledged during a recognition luncheon on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Tropicana Casino inside the Walnut Room at the Executive Center.

    Meet Chase Kelley Vice President, Corporate Communications Vectren Corporation our 4th Award Winner

    Chase Kelley joined the Corporate Communications department at Vectren Corporation in January of 2002 and in 2013 was named the department’s vice president in which she is responsible for public, community and media relations; as well as the company’s brand management, energy efficiency program marketing and employee communications. Prior to the vice presidential appointment, she served as director of corporate communications and was the manager of external and energy conservation communications earlier in her career. Before joining Vectren, the Ridgway, Illinois, native served as the marketing and communications manager for the United Way of Southwestern Indiana.

    Chase received a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication (magna cum laude) from Murray State University and her master’s in mass communication (magna cum laude) from the University of South Carolina.

    She is active in energy industry associations, including the Indiana Energy Association, where she serves as co-chair of the public affairs committee, the Edison Electric Institute and the American Gas Association, where she serves as vice chair of the Marketing & Communications committee.

    Currently, she serves as the president for the board of directors for Youth Resources of Southwestern Indiana and on the campaign cabinet for the 2015 fund-raising effort of the United Way of Southwestern Indiana. Chase is a 2013 graduate of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series. She is a volunteer coach for Lakeview Optimist Club youth basketball and Junior Warriors youth softball.

    Chase resides in Evansville with her husband, Donny. They have two children, Avery and Wes.
