Honor the memory of the departed and experience our community’s cultural diversity as we celebrate this uniquely Mexican holiday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday at Angel Mounds, 8215 Pollack Ave.
Enjoy dance performances, lectures, authentic food and hands-on activities. Admire our beautiful ofrenda room, where candles illuminate highly decorative, temporary altars to those we remember. Be sure to catch Chicago-based traditional Mexican folk music and dance ensemble, Sones de México, who, as part of their main performance at 3:30 p.m., will be working with local songwriters to create and perform a corrido, or tragic ballad, for a community figure, to be announced.
The event is free and open to the public.
