Centerpoint Energy reports that as of 2 PM Thursday, all but 4,200 customers have had their power restored after the outages caused by the ice storm last weekend. In a press release, Centerpoint said, “Crews are fully engaged today and will continue working until power is restored for all customers who can safely receive service. More than 1,000 personnel remain mobilized to assist with these efforts. We expect substantial restoration to be completed by the end of today, with some targeted, complex outages extending into Friday.”
Here we go again. We are now under a new winter storm warning for the Evansville area.
Tomorrow morning, snow will start moving in from the southwest between 3-6 AM and gradually push east through the morning. This will be steady, widespread snowfall through the morning and afternoon. Most of the snow will be tapering off late afternoon.
Highs will be in the perfect range for dry snowfall, right around the low 30s.
WEVV meteorologist Jonathan Weaver says that we’re in for 2 to 5 inches of snow.
We’ll see dry conditions over the weekend and a good amount of sunshine for continued thawing. Highs will be in the low to mid 30s.
