Subject: Wayne Parke’s Comments on Republican Caucus–6 PM Thursday May 26, 2016

Dear Precinct Committeeman—

As you know, we are having a Republican Caucus 6 PM Thursday May 26. 2016 at the GOP Office Building(2nd floor) to fill a ballot vacancy and to vote on a Resolution giving me authority to appoint a Republican to fill a ballot vacancy when the need arises.

1) County Commissioner District # 1

In the Commissioner District #1 race, we have two candidates seeking to be our Republican November ballot candidate. Robert Myers and Sean Selby have properly filed to be the Republican candidate at our caucus. You will have the opportunity to vote to decide which one will be our candidate on the November ballot. Click on the attachment to read some of the powers and duties for this very important Commissioner position.

I have been ask by several Precinct Committeemen who I think is the best Candidate to fill the County Commissioner #1 ballot vacancy. I have decided to openly share with all of you what I plan to do. Upon my review of each candidate’s work experience and their qualifications along with the duties and powers of the commissioner position, I am going to vote for Robert Myers. I believe Robert is the best candidate and the most electable person of the two in the November Election. We need to elect a Republican to replace current Commissioner Joe Kiefer, so we maintain a majority of the three-member Board of Commissioners.

2) County Coroner

Nobody has filed to run for Coroner in this called caucus.

A Coroner candidate needs to be a county resident for one year in order to run for this position. The coroner does not perform autopsies (unless he or she is also a board-certified pathologist). The coroner is an administrator above all else. The Coroner gets paid approximately $63,000 per year plus benefits.

The coroner has innumerable experts to call upon to help them render a decision. The Indiana State Coroners Training Board has been established and funded to provide 40 hours of basic training and 16 hours of annual continuing education for coroners to assist them in the administration of their duties, and establish mandatory training leading to certification.

3) Granting the Chairman Ballot Appointment Authority

A resolution (see below for wording) will be voted on to give Wayne Parke, Chairman VCRP, the authority to appoint a candidate to fill a “Ballot Vacancy”. Some examples would be when an unplanned event occurs that results in a “Ballot Vacancy” or if there is a very short time frame deadline to fill a ballot vacancy. I recommend you vote in favor of this resolution.

Proposed Resolution wording – (Vote yes or no)

While E Wayne Parke serves as Chairman of the Vanderburgh County Republican Party, the Vanderburgh County Republican Party Precinct Committeemen and Vice Precinct Committeemen give the authority to Republican Chairman E Wayne Parke to appoint a Republican to fill a ballot vacancy.

Please attend this important caucus and vote for the person you wish to be on the November General Election Ballot. As state above, I will be voting for Robert Myers.

If you have any thoughts/comments/concerns you would like to share, please contact me.

Thanks for helping make our County the best it can be. See you 6 PM Thursday at the GOP Office—2nd Floor.

Wayne Parke

  1. Sure thing, the committeemen have been calling to ask the pig in charge who to vote for. They want to hang on to there jobs. Wayne Pork and Lloyd Finicky call the shots.

  2. Pork-nocchio’s snout just got longer. Robert Myers ran for City Council as a LIBERTARIAN.

Pork and Fnnicky didn’t want a real Republican, Cheryl Musgrave, on their ticket but they want Myers over Sean Selby. What business does Myers own? Is he now a Lib-publican or a Republi-tarian? Either way, he is still Treasurer of the Libertarian Party locally.

  3. The Vanderburgh County Republican Party Chairman, Wayne Parke, is endorsing a Libertarian Party member for Republican Party Candidate for the Vanderburgh County Commission District #1 Office.

I am assuming this was cleared through the Evansville Regional Business Committee before Wayne Parke announced “his” choice?

  4. In a free caucus election, the Republican committeemen can choose between either Robb Myers or Sean Selby for County Commissioner – District 1 candidate. It is my understanding that Robb Myers ran for City Council At-Large as an “Independent.” The Libertarian party is not recognized as a party on the ballot. In addition, since that election, Robb has resigned his position as Treasurer of the local Libertarian organization and officially filed as a Republican, changing party affiliation.

    • Patrick the Libertarian Party is recognized as an official party on the ballot.
