The Honorable Vanderburgh County Superior Court Judge Brett Niemeier will resign his position effective September 2, 2023
Pursuant to Article 5, Section 18 of the Indiana Constitution and Indiana Code, the Governor of the State of Indiana has the authority to fill judicial vacancies as they occur in the state.
Current Vacancy
As a general rule, the application period for judicial openings will be four (4) weeks after posting on this website.  Notwithstanding, the Governor’s Office may extend the application period in its sole judgment or discretion.
Below is one new judicial opening, Â each of which has a 4-week application period, ending Monday, July 24, 2023.
Vanderburgh County Superior Court Vacancy
- The Office of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is now accepting applications for the position of judge in the Vanderburgh County Superior Court to succeed the Honorable Brett Niemeier who will resign effective September 2, 2023.
- Qualified applicants should complete and submit the judicial application found below by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023.
