Why did Mrs. Musgrave leave the “Keep Evansville Beautiful”? Sources indicate that many of the sidewalks in our poorest of neighborhoods are in really bad shape and the Barrett Law requires that the sidewalks in front of those resident’s home must be one half paid by them. The other half by the City. In many cases, the cost per home can be between 2-4 thousand and of course those poor folks can not afford the cost. Sources indicate that Winnecke was upset abound Mrs. Musgrave’s comments that pointed to this Mayor’s insensitivity in regards to the issue.
What old Winnie has little tolerance about criticism especially when it is on point.
Wish they would spend that much time on our local finances. Maybe the new management?
The (AP) is reporting President Barack Obama’s approval rating continues to rise, now reaching above 50%. George W. Bush’s approval rating in April of his final year as President was 30%.

The batch of clowns they have running to replace him should make anybody shine.
Of course his rating was 30%. Why? In September 2008 this country endured the beginning of the Great Recession stemmed from the bill that was signed on November 17, 1999 by Bill Clinton “Repeal of the 1933 Banking Act” commonly referred to as the Glass Steagel Act. The only thing that wasn’t repealed was the FDIC portion of that act. Now, banks could and did participate in Derivatives and other highly risky ventures and allowed mortgages to individuals with no income and credit scores of 550. It took only 9 years for the house of cards to tumble. I encourage those interested in financial history to watch the movie “The Big Short”
And now we have some similarities on the local basis. Our highly skilled and intellectually talented President of the City Council is spearheading the repeal of the separation of funds ordinary which required that the Boat and Rainy Day moneys be placed in their own bank account not as it has been commingled with the General & Parks Funds. Once repealed, our Master Book Juggler, a/k/a Russ Lloyd will not have to report back to the council only twenty days after the transfer of any moneys. So, with the council meeting only twice per month, it can easily be nearly 30 days before anybody would know what the hell maybe going on.
Why have any ordinances at all. In December, the Master Book Juggler (Russ Lloyd) transferred $12,500,000 from the Riverboat Fund to the General Fund without anybody’s knowledge or consent of Council. Why? If not, the General Fund would have been over-drafted by $6,000,000 but it is worse then that. He failed to pay nearly $4,000,000 of hospital and medical bills just like he did in the prior year and advanced future income from the Water & Sewer Dept like he did in the prior year to the tune of $1,400,000. So, my fellow citizens, be prepared to see the SBOA make comments that our General Fund Balance is negative by nearly $12,000,000. BTW, the General Fund Vendors not paid as of December 31, 2015 is at a record hight of $6,100,000.
Mr. Langhorne has a history of writing articles that cast a favorable light on Mrs. Musgrave. That’s not to say that Mr. Schmitt doesn’t have some apparent challenges that make one wonder about his judgment. BTW in District 77, Ferguson continues to send out effective campaign mailings. The most recent one targets tax breaks handed out to companies who don’t really create jobs. He hit the nail on the head. While Riecken trots around with Hatfield like she is in her right mind. Must be payback for the help he gave her in her laughable mayoral campaign. And the GOPers are hustling for the radio DJ. I guess the FOP kicked Henrietta to the curb.
Brenda Bergwitz is the only sensible person running for any office. Article just posted on cp.com repub candidates accusing their leader of racism. I think would be great if Brenda shocked them all and won by like 10 votes she has common sense which the rest of them don’t have
She’s just another right wing loon. Being loud and crass doesn’t make you a good leader.
