Aces Tie For Second Place At Braun Intercollegiate
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In Tuesday’s final day of the Braun Intercollegiate, Magdalena Borisova and Kate Petrova helped the University of Evansville women’s golf team put forth a furious rally to come home in second place at Oak Meadow Country Club.
The Purple Aces duo each completed the 2-round tournament with scores of 152 to finish in a tie for second place. Borisova tied for the low round of the day, carding a 1-over 73. Petrova completed the final round with a 74 to tie Borisova for the runner-up spot.
Allison Enchelmayer was the third UE player to register a top ten finish. Following a 78 on Monday, she scored a 76 in the final 18 to tally a 154. She tied for 8th place. Mallory Russell was fourth on the team. Identical rounds of 78 saw her tie for 13th with a 156. Carly Frazier rounded out the team scores with a 176. Rounds of 83 and 93 gave her a tie for 58th.
Pacing the UE individuals was Alyssa McMinn. Her total of 79 on Tuesday gave her a 161 for the event, tying her for 25th. Caitlin O’Donnell carded an 83 in the final round. Her final tally checked in at 167, which tied her for 38th.
Four behind O’Donnell was Destynie Sheridan. She lowered her opening round score by three shots, completing the last 18 holes with an 84 to post a 2-round total of 171. Grace Vandenburg wrapped up the home event with a 208.
Top honors on both the team and individual sides went to Austin Peay. With a score of 611, the Governors fended off a furious challenge from the Aces to win by three strokes. Bellarmine rounded out the top three with a 624. Taylor Dedmen of APSU posted rounds of 72 and 74 to win the tournament with a 146. She defeated Petrova and Borisova by six shots.
