Fifty years ago this summer, humanity reached the moon. To commemorate the event, the Arts Council commissioned artists to create the universe for a one-of-kind experience — “BANG.”
“BANG” is an exhibition that features nearly 40 artists who were randomly assigned an astral body to create in their own vision. Planets, moons, asteroids, comets, nebulas, galaxies, black holes and more will be featured in the exhibition.
Thanks to a generous donation from Banterra Bank, the opening reception for “BANG” is 5-7 p.m. Saturday, June 22 at the Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation Gallery at 212 Main St. in Downtown Evansville. “BANG” runs from June 18 – July 26. Admission is free.
