Evansville Police arrested 29 year old Cory Wildy on several charges stemming from an afternoon shooting at 616 Covert Ave. Police believe Wildy shot 42 year old Freddie Barnes during a dispute.Â
Barnes was in the home around 1:00pm when Wildy arrived. Wildy confronted Barnes about a theft that happened on an earlier date. Investigators believe Widly shot Barnes during the confrontation.Â
After being shot, Barnes was able to pin Wildy down and hold him until police arrived. Wildy was taken into custody when officers arrived.Â
