Arrest Made For Hit-And-Run Related To Shooting Investigation Alexis M Wilhite (21) has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and driving with license suspended with injury. While fleeing the shooting scene described below, Wilhite struck the victim with her vehicle, causing serious bodily injury. Wilhite did not report the accident or attempt to aid the victim.
The shooting investigation is on-going at this time.
One Deceased After Shooting Leaves Multiple Injured
On 6/15/2025 officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Taylor Ave in reference to a Shots Fired run.
Multiple 911 calls were received stating several shots were fired and there was more than one victim. Officers on scene learned a large party was hosted at the location. As everyone was leaving the party,
shots were fired outside of the venue. Multiple people were injured by gunfire and at least one person was struck by a vehicle. One of the victims who was shot did not survive their injuries. Investigators on scene spoke with several witnesses. Witnesses stated the party ended and as everyone was leaving, shots were fired outside. It was also learned that there was more than one person shooting.
Detectives spoke with residents near the scene and searched the area for any cameras that might have captured the incident. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
